I've been following Snake Pass since they announced David Wise as composer. Looks pretty fun. It's a new and interesting concept, at the very least.

Blizzard is making StarCraft: Remastered for an unspecified price. When they do that, the original will be available for free.

Riding on the coattails of the success of Nier: Automata no doubt, Bayonetta has just been released on Steam. I've never played it, but supposedly it's very good.

If 3D Brawlers are your bag, you can't do much better. And it's not just the copious fan service!

Never really understood the appeal of story in fighting games, but the VS series has always struck me as particularly absurd. The only company that really seems to be able to put a decent story together for fighting games is Netherrealm. I have to admit, I'm looking forward to Injustice 2.

Speaking of fighting games, there's a new one coming out.

For the SNES.

It'll be out in June. So I hope you haven't gotten rid of your SNES yet 'cause hey, new game.

Oh, Bioware. Every time I think I'm out, you pull me back in...

I've got to admit, I've never followed any backstories or story lines of any fighting game, either, but I'm still very excited about the new Marvel Vs. Capcom. Any excuse to play something new with Mega Man X is all I need!  ;D

Sidenote: I did some reading up on "Mighty Number 9"; I think I dodged a bullet getting the game for free. If I would've had to wait as long for the final release as all the crowd backers did, I'd be pretty angry and disenfranchised, too. Looking at what it is for free, I think it's  a great nod to the past, with beautiful HD graphics & the classic side-scrolling adventure we all remember and enjoy. Unfortunately, it's a great example of why it's unwise to pre-order any game ... you just never know until it's actually ready.

I don't regret backing Mighty Number 9, but I did not enjoy the final product. Only one of the few games I've backed where that's the case. But I don't consider backing a game as a pre order. I consider it as funding something that might be cool that wouldn't exist without my money. Whereas there's no reason to pre order.

And shit. Megan Man X is in the new marvel v capcom?  Wasn't going to get it, but MMX brings back so much nostalgia... plus those games are always pretty fun.

So, this game Strafe has been released, and the reviews for it are...OK, possibly 'meh.'  However, the trailer for it is probably more entertaining than the game.

I'm linking it here, but I'm not embedding it, due to it being pretty violent (even if comedically violent) and to give warning before watching it at work.

Divinity II is going to have a GM mode, turning it into a virtual pen and paper RPG. It sounds pretty cool, as it's focused on letting the GM quickly adapt to whatever mischief the players decide to get up to. The map sizes are small and there's no scripting, so the GM isn't expected to build a whole video game like other RPGs with a similar feature. It just provides virtual tools and sets to create quick environments, plus the combat rule set that's already built in. Though the GM can override any stats or numbers if he feels like it. Sounds like a really cool tool for creating some fun stories with friends.

Now all I need are some friends.
