I concur. The necklace photo is my favorite, although I really love the one in red, too. Very Alfonse Mucha.

Also, I was scratching my head, trying to figure out who you remind me of.  I watched Braveheart (again) last night & it dawned on me: Sophie Marceau.

I can see that to a degree but it reminds me of somebody else more, not sure who though.

On the subject of artists, Meg, check out some of the work of Nicholas Kalmakoff if you've not.

modelmeg

Again, thanks everyone!

Thanks for the suggestion. His work is very interesting. Kind of terrifyingly beautiful.

Tripe

Yeah he was a funny one. He did my favourite image of the goddess Astarte though.

I usually instinctively dislike models. Those that would place themselves up on a pedestal and say "LOOK AT ME!".

But honestly, modelmeg, I have to admit, you are so self-effacing that it makes it tough for me to do so.

So...stop that.

Well she did mention that she's not actually a model or an aspiring model; she just has a hobby of self-portraiture.

modelmeg

Hahaha, I understand the model thing. The whole industry is based on "LOOK AT ME!!"
I started the self-portraits because I needed a way to express myself that I could do at home. I've always loved dressing up. Playing with hair and makeup. I love theatricality and a person's ability to transform. The self-portraits are a way for me to do all those things while also making the scenarios I see in my head tangible.

Anyone wanna see MY self portraits?!

Not your side of beef :speechless:

Now why does everything have to be so perverted with you people?!?!

It's merely a series of tasteless nudes. In sepia.

What, no turquoise and orange?

Tripe

No, those are the spectrum keys for my nude selfies.

One of the things I noticed (but couldn't put my finger on, and could only put into words once you said this), is that your self-portraits reminded me of the talent and dramatically-changing image involved in early-70s era David Bowie.  Not that you are copying anything of his by any means, but that you have the same compelling and vibrant visuals in the personal image (and the images) you create.

Very nice!
