I think "teh' has to be a sizable challenger to it though.

Yeah, but "teh" has now become something people use on purpose, especially in LOLcat pictures and the like.

"Weird," though...  The English major in me wants to wail and gnash my teeth whenever I see "weird" misspelled.

I misspell things alot.

Secret message: I know, I know... it's "a lot".

For me it's the misuse of "literally."

"And my head literally exploded!"
"NO IT DIDN'T! IF IT DID, I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO HEAR YOU SAY THAT!!"

I used to work for this huge corporation--I had to interview, on and off, for three months just to get a stupid customer service job--and one of my greatest language pet peeves was fed there.

I used to get emails (and, occasionally, voicemails) from other employees (including one of the company's vice presidents) which would state something along the lines of, "Mr. So-and-So called me about the order you're handling, but I couldn't look at the information because it's password-protected, so I guess it's a mute point."

Um, excuse me?  I couldn't hear the point you were making BECAUSE IT CAN'T SPEAK.

On my last day there (and I understand this makes me a terrible person), I replied to every email containing "mute point" with the following message:

"MOOT!  MOOT MOOT MOOT MOOT MOOT!  IT'S 'MOOT POINT,' YOU F*CKSTICK!  MOOT!

"Have a great day,
[call_me_nuveena]
"

Colloquialisms, turns of phrase and plain old silly errors I can understand (I make them, too, and having them pointed out to me in large, red letters is part of my job), but there are some things that seem to be accepted as correct even though they are SO not, and that bothers me.

"besides the point"
"etc..."
"mute point"

You get it.

Seriously,
I just type what ever hits my twisted mind at a spur-of-the-moment, type it into Google Images, and the creativity appears before my mis-believin eyes!!..

I hate "irregardless" with a passion

Oh and people writing, for example, "the 60's" what possession of 60 are you referring to? Aberrant Apostrophes must be eradicated.
