My favourite of his too...  I gave it an 8.  Gonna give it a few more views this week.  Definitely plenty of laughs in this one!!!
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

so this is (nearly) on par with mike and the bots? i've been hesitant to get anything that doesn't involve any mst3k cast members.

Do you like Mike solo riffs? (Roadhouse, Cocktail, XxX, Predator etc) if so then I would say it is on par with regular RiffTrax. If you are one of those people that can't get into solo riffs then you probably won't like it.

BTW, I loved this Riff. This is Matthew's strongest riff yet. I also loved the intro gag about it being a solo riff. Some funny MST3K call backs as well. Very funny stuff. I can't wait for his next one.

Did okay.  I liked the slam on Seth McFarlane.  I found the MST3K references a little artificial though; it brought too much of a feeling of a fan-riff.  Probably a 6.  I liked his Die Hard better.

I think Matt does solo Riffs better than any of the original cast including Mike, actually. His commentary is more cerebral, more MST3K 'retro' and less of a 'heckle' - Mike's solo riffs tend to come off like a 2 hour insult comedy stand up routine. It's a little trying after a while. I haven't caught "Ghost" or "Dirty Dancing", but I think Matthew is their best guest riffer to date.

Hmm.. I never got that vibe from the Mike solo riffs.

The only one I really enjoyed was Predator. I'd love to see a three-riffer release of that and "Roadhouse" - Both of those films deserve the full treatment.

I enjoyed the track Matthew did for this movie.  It's a classic movie in many ways, but there's still plenty to riff on.  He had a lot of good riffs pulled from Charlton Heston's other movies, Charlton Heston's connection to the NRA, the Rod Serling connection, the Monkees pop group, and Professor Bobo & friends from MST3k days.  He also had some riffs that were obscure enough that I didn't get them until the second or third time I watched the riff.  (I still don't get the one about Connecticut...).  I liked the lines from Misembaudio (Miss Embaudio?).  And then there were one-off lines, like "Saving Primate Ryan", or some of songs where he came up with alternate lyrics.

I wish the riff had gone on just a little bit longer.  It ends just before the movie credits pop up "The producers express their appreciation to the National Park Service, US department of the Interior for it's cooperation in the production of this motion picture".  It might have been funny to add something like "It was really nice that they let the film makers move around the statue of liberty like that..."

Hmm... too topical, maybe.

Invisible NanoGhost

Oh, I knew the Travis attack was in Connecticut, but I thought the riff was that Charlton Heston was saying that he had never been to connecticut, and I couldn't think of anything he (CH) had been accused of in Connecticut...

Finally got around to watching it. This was my first experience with Mr. Elliott, and the samples didn't impress me much. However, after watching the full thing, I have to say he definitely is a funny guy. I thought it was consistently funny, got more than a couple big laughs from me. I really wish he had started singing the Simpsons musical version though, I think that would have killed. Maybe MKB will when they do the remake. The will do the remake, right?
My complaints: there were a lot of times where it seems like he had a few jokes for one specific moment, and couldn't decide on a single one, so he just said them rapid fire. a lot of time the multiple jokes were funny, but they lose their possible effect when the moment is long gone.
Glad this turned out good, now I just have to watch the older releases.
