Bloom County coming in October!
Diamond order code AUG09 0908

As the dust from Comic Con settles, don't forget to place your orders for The Bloom County Library, coming in October.  This five volume collection will feature every daily and Sunday strip in chronological order, and is the first time that many of these famous strips have been republished. The books will be part of IDW's Library of American Comics imprint, and designed by Eisner Award-winner Dean Mullaney.

Berkeley Breathed's Bloom County is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed newspaper strips of modern times. Premiering on December 8th, 1980 - a month after the election of Ronald Reagan as President - the strip brought to the comics pages a unique amalgam of contemporary politics and fantasy, all told with hilarious humor and wit.

In addition to the strips themselves, The Bloom County Library will also contain a series of "Context Pages" sprinkled throughout the volumes, providing perspective for the reader and presenting a variety of real-life events and personalities that were contemporary at the time of original publication.

Woot! As a fan of Bloom County (especially back in the early days of the strip, back before BB started getting goofy), I'm quite happy to hear this news.

Í was too young to understand a lot of Bloom County during its original run, but I remember haveing one of the books when my brother left it behind moving out, the laughs that book gave me are enough to have me excited for this.

I have at home a couple of old Bloom County books.   Still funny today.

So, this showed up today:

It's sounding like Berkely is serious about bringing it back. We won't know for sure until a second strip appears.  But hey, all signs point to "yes."

And if it's true, give thanks to Donald Trump. I have the sneaking suspicion that Breathed's dislike of the man may have been the catalyst.
