Barbossa. Jack's the kind of Captain who, though fun, is made to be mutinied.

man thats a close one, davy jones cool as hell, captain barbossa also cool as hell.  its hard to tell who would win if barbossa still was cursed.  I likem both.

Some of davy's facial expressions i thought were just to perfect.

but barbossa had a more swashbuckling "i belong in the ride potc" than davy.

I love Pirates 1 and 2....both were great.

As for Monster House....it's ok but definately not as cool as the goonies and Monster Squad.

You have no idea how fng cool Bill Nighy really is. My cousin was a featured extra on Pirates 2 & 3 while it was filming in the Bahamas and he got to do some stand ins for a bad guy that is in Pirates 3 who has scenes with Davey Jones and so he got to work with Bill Nighy pretty close for a couple of days and he said that Bill was easily the coolest, nicest, and most down to earth actor there other than Johnny Depp.

But of course we are both HUGE Bill Nighy fans specifically because of Shaun of the Dead and Love Actually so the whole time before my cousin left to go to the Bahamas all we talked about is not how he would meet Kiera Knightley, Orlando Bloom, or Johnny Depp...but Bill Nighy.

I have some other Pirates stories he told me about and I kow a lot about whats gonna happen in 3 but I definitely do not know everything thats gonna happen.

Have you ever seen the film Still Crazy? He plays a washed up rock and roll star (kind of like in Love Actually).  It's a great - and hilarious - film.

Yeah Orlando Bloom was both....he apparently got pissed off when a stuntman did something better than him and demanded that they replaced his stuntman.
Also some one tried to start a convo with him and he just blew him off completely.....

He said that Johnny Depp was very cool, Johnny had just got done doing a scene and my cousin and all the extras were watching the replay of the scene, it was on the day of the superbowl last year and Johnny walked up to them and said in his Jack Sparrow voice "Whatcha guys watching, the superbowl? Is it any good?" and of course all the extras were caught off guard.

good to know.  now i have a REAL reason to dislike bloom and a real reason to like mr depp.  coolness.  I always liked johnny depp movies anyways.

I've never met the guy, but I have trouble believing Johnny Depp's all that down-to-earth. Orlando Bloom, on the other hand, I have no trouble believing as a prick.

    To take this back to Pixar and John Lasseter in particular, when TCM showed a pile of Miyazaki movies last year,  Lasseter co-hosted the series and had footage of his visits to Miyazaki and Ghibli Studios so I could understand if he had an interest in getting back to some 2D animation.
    While I don't generally go in for conspiracy theories, I do want to explain my theory that Disney got the distribution rights for Miyazaki's films in the US  just so they could screw them up.  After some half-hearted attempts at distributing Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, they seemed to make little effort to get Howl's Moving Castle into theaters.  I eventually had to go to a little hole-in-the-wall theater to see it, even though I thought the story had much more potential to connect with American audiences.  Disney seems content to make money on DVD sales of these films while making sure their own toons get preferred treatment in theaters.  That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it.
