So, Temuera Morrison, the Kiwi actor who played Jango Fett is playing Abin Sur, Hal Jordan's predecessor as GL of sector 2814. Good news: Abin Sur will probably get a few more lines than "I'm dying, ACK." Bad news: I'll be reminded of the Star Wars prequels.

If you don't get include Abin's famous last words, I'll be peeved.

Won't he be under makeup, though?

Shave his head, paint him orangey-pink, that's about it, I'd imagine. I'm having trouble imagining a dignifed alien with that accent. Oi!

I hope they change him up a little, though. I don't want him to look like a tall Green Lantern Oompa Loompa.

It's funny when you think of the "fantasy casting" I've seen online for Abin Sur: Patrick Stewart, Ben Kingsley, John Malkovich. Nope. Jango Fett.  :D

GL fears yellow and JAKE THE MUSS

I remember really wanting him to be cast as Wolverine back in the day.

I could see it. If he could nail the accent. (Of course, I'm still a little disappointed Hugh Jackman didn't go more Mackenzie Brothers...)

This is big news for DC fans: Angela Bassett is playing Amanda Waller. If you're familiar with that character you just got very excited. For the rest of you I'll just say that it's like Sam Jackson showing up as Nick Fury in Iron Man.

(Apparently, Pam Grier is also playing Amanda Waller on Smallville. But it's Smallville, so nobody cares.)

Word is Warner Plans to use DC movies to fill in the void left by Harry Potter so a JLA movie isn't impossible... just pretty unlikely at this stage

Given that we haven't seen the quality of their output yet, I don't care "what their plans are" yet. If Green Lantern is good (please be good, please be good, please be good), then I will get excited.

I want a Suicide Squad movie. The Task Force X episode of JLU made it seem possible. (Thank you Darwyn Cooke.)

Checkmate! O.M.A.C.!

You know who Angela Bassett would really be good as?  Big Barda.  But Amanda Waller is pretty cool too.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

Angela Basset as Big Barda? Huh. But I don't foresee any New Gods making movie appearances any time soon.
