I've got it! The perfect Sinestro, in his first dramatic performance, now that he may be looking for a new job soon...

Spoiler

Conando!

Blake Lively's pretty and all, but I really think they should've cast a little bit older for Carol.  Hell, I think Ryan Reynolds needs a few more years on him to play Hal Jordan.

a pretty girl is like

Does that mean Hector Hammond is the main bad guy?  That's no good.  Green Lantern needs someone to punch with a giant green energy fist.  Didn't they learn their lesson from Superman's big return?
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

Hector Hammond's the scheming Earthbound bad guy whom - I'm extrapolating - Hal has to protect Carol from and win her undying affection. Meanwhile, if the script reviews I've read are correct, Hal, Sinestro, and possibly other fan-beloved Lanterns track down and put the emerald beatdown to Legion, the Doomsday-esque big bad plot device that's responsible for the death of Hal's predecessor, Abin Sur.

This is about 50% specualtion on my part, of course. But if Hal doesn't make a giant green boxing glove at some point, I will be sorely disappointed.

Great, so there are two, possibly three bad guys in this? Crap. Too, too much. Besides, once he's in outer space as a Lantern, why are we supposed to care about his Earthbound girlfriend?

Um... Cuz she's hot?   :D

I dunno, I love Green Lantern, but I've never really given a crap about Carol Ferris. Hal should be scoring with hot alien babes, Kirk style.

Okay, so according to GL director Martin Campbell himself, he has no idea where the Jackie Earle Haley rumors came from and Mark Strong is the frontrunner for Sinestro:

What do you, the viewers at home, think?

Nergol

This is so cool. As soon as I heard that Sinestro was going to be in this movie, I thought: "Good for you, man - finally escaping from Tommy Wiseau and that whole "Ohai Mark! thing". Seriously, as bad as that movie was, I thought he was one of the better things about it. I'm really glad he's found some other work, and that Wiseau didn't manage to ruin his career.

Mark Strong's a really good actor, so I think he could pull it off.  I always think "English Andy Garcia!" when I see him, though.

Ha-ha, so do I!

Johnny Unusual

I think the director needs to summon the ghost of David Niven THE WAY GOD INTENDED.

Niven couldn't play it.  His range is too limited.  Basil Rathbone, maybe, but not Niven.

Is this real concept art from the GL movie? Beats me. Does Tomar Re (AKA ol' Chickenfish) look effing terrifying? Hell yes!

When I read Sinestro, he sometimes has Boris Karloff's voice in my head. Dunno why.
