like start with
was it made before 2000
then was it made before 1970
and so on

Ideally we start with a range (say 1940 to 2007) and split it in half each time. So "Was it made before 1963?" If no, then "Was it made before 1985?" and so on.

they have done alot of newer films so i thought 2000 would be the best starting spot

Color before 1960, I was hoping for War of the Worlds, but Sci-Fi had already been ruled out  :(

My point to this is that even though we are asking better questions, there are SO many more users online, that its hard to get everyone on the right track. For example, you might ask a year question, but in the mean time someone else asks something completely different.

You could always go ahead and post it with a "Nyah, Nyah you losers" addition.  I just want to get the movie from Netflixs before Friday.

Is it action

No, it is a not a action movie from before 1946.

17.

This is an interesting answer. We had asked earlier if it was before 1948 and they said yes. Now they go out of their way to say it is NOT an action movie from BEFORE 1946. That tells me this movie is from 1946 or 1947.

It could be a western, like The Virginian (after all, The Virginian has William Frawley in it, lol), but it is only readily available on VHS (although I think there is a South Korean all-region DVD floating around). Or it could be a war movie...

Since when does the Virginian start with S?  :D

BTW: Does the rifftrax crew consider sci-fi and horror the same genre?  It seems like someone was told horror was excluded but maybe I'm blind, I only see sci-fi?

Whaaa?!?!  Sci-Fi and Horror are normally exclusive, but there are certain films that can be considered both. Not really Aliens or Jason X, but maybe Event Horizon.

We actually do use IMDB to give us Genre details and a lot of times there isn't just one "strictly defined" genre for any given movie.
