Great poster, but what in God's name did you do to Kevin to get him to make that face?

That's the face Kevin had after Bill showed him the acoustic performance video of Lady GG.

BathTub

Not sure what George McFly has to do with the movie though.

Voodoo Man has never been released on DVD before, so this is a RiffTrax exclusive!  Because of this, it will only be available as VOD and download to burn!

How about an MP3 in case we find a copy somewhere?

Sorry, we didn't even record an intro or synch lines.  If you find a copy, let us know.  But I'm pretty sure we digitized this from film reels, so it probably wouldn't even be the same print

Apparently, Sinister Cinema offers Voodoo Man on either VHS or DVD. I don't know if it's still available, but it's listed on their website:
http://store.sinistercinema.com/prostores/servlet/Detail?no=16374

List price is $16.95. I didn't check shipping, handling, etc., fees.

Interesting. Perhaps we can order it to see if it'll work... but there's a good chance it won't, since we digitized the movie from the film element ourselves. Might be some editing, framerate, etc. differences between the two.

Conor

Also, that website does not seem like the kind of website we would confidently direct customers towards.  The option to get the movie on VHS or DVD probably means that they are dubbing it as you order them.  The artwork for Voodoo Man didn't even load for me.

No reason to complicate this past the incredibly simple VOD system.  If it's only 'available' on a website that you'd never heard of before, it might as well not be available.

And also, yes, it wouldn't match up with the copy we have.

I'm not speaking to their business acumen or legitimacy (shame on ya, Conor), as I've never dealt with them. All I did was point out that someone else had the movie on DVD. And I agree, it won't match up with what you have, since you transferred directly from film.

Well if the movie isn't (Let's just say) commercially available, it might be cool to have an audio track with the riffing off for the download to burn option. Don't know how doable that is, but I'm throwing it out there in case it's a possibility. :^)

Let me know if you have done that ! I would also try to do it.

I'm up for this too.  I usually just get the VOD version anyway, but since you've got the exclusive for the movie on DVD, if the Download-To-Burn gives the option of viewing the movie without the riffs as well, I'd go for that - just so I'd have a good copy of the flick itself!

I am actually kind of shocked that a Bela Lugosi movie was availble and not readily available on DVD.   I know he did a TON of B (and C and D) quality movies, but the cast list on this movie has a lot of names people would recognize.

I think it would be entertaining to know how this was tracked down, who found it, who had to approve it, etc.

You asked for more voodoo—and we deliver, with a RiffTrax exclusive*, Voodoo Man. Young women are vanishing somewhere on the road that leads to the creepy old house of a deranged bachelor (Bela Lugosi) and his two lonely assistants. Remarkably, no one thinks to question the deranged bachelor and his two lonely assistants, so the disappearances just keep stacking up. Until one day when the blandest man alive ("Ralph", appropriately enough) uses his remarkable ability to run out of gas at just the right time and discovers their plot. The highlight for most people will be the most shameful performance of John Carradine's career as a thin, mincing idiot, and the most shameful performance of George Zucco's career (they must have had a bet going) as a voodoo priest/gas station clerk.

Mike, Kevin and Bill return to the loving (and needle tracked) arms of Bela Lugosi as Voodoo Man.

*Once thought lost, our crack staff found it in the caves at Nag Hammadi. Except for one, very brief moment it's a great print, too, and you literally can't find it anywhere else!

I actually did find a copy.  I'm not sure where he got it, but my friend has an .avi of it to loan me tonight.  He claims that it's transferred from 16mm too, but I doubt it would synch perfectly.  Still, I'd love to be able to try it out with the mp3 (synch lines or no).

An .avi probably wouldn't sync up at all... that being said, I think we can still include the mp3 for the source audio like we usually do.

Its probably a rip of the Sinister DVD. They are not a fly-by-night outfit. They have been around a long time specializing in the obscure and hard to find. They are like Something Weird (without a studio dvd deal).

Thanks.  I'll give it a try.  If the avi doesn't synch up, I'll buy the VOD.  Will I be able to buy the MP3 on its own?  I'd much rather pay 3.99 than 9.99, unless I absolutely have to.

Conor

I think Erik meant that the source MP3 could be included as a download for the VOD.  Selling the MP3 can't happen because we don't have an intro or synch lines, and quite honestly, if we were to put it up, we would receive dozens of confused emails from people wondering where to get the movie and our answer would be "nowhere, you have to buy the VOD". That or the even less desirable alternative "talk to forum user poopoopeepee's friend"
