Well, since I am also on unemployment right now (indefinitely, dammit), if you had a full-time job that paid reasonably well, you can get a percentage of that in unemployment until a set amount runs out. If you get a part-time job (or two) and that doesn't add up to the amount you'd get from unemployment, they still send you the difference. Either way, the amount you're bringing in isn't near what you were actually making with the full-time job. So if you were just squeaking by while employed, you're up shit creek with unemployment.
