I'm still trying to get that - is that the actor saying "line?" as in they don't know what their line is, or is that someone off-camera saying "line..." as in "c'mon say your line"

in movies and theater when you're in rehearsal acting but can't remember your lines you simply say "line" and the SM or UPM or whoever feeds you the line.

I think my fav line is still too early to say, but I do keep quoting, "Smile!" "I don't think she knows how" and "I'd do anything for you---except stop the blandness. That's where I draw the line"

I love the ones like this where they say just what I was thinking the moment after I think of it, only they always say it funnier. The above line is an example of one of these.
