Not very well, if her latest film is anything to go by.

In Labor Pains, she plays a secretary who has to pretend she's pregnant in order to keep her crappy job. Which of course, makes much more sense than just sucking it up and finding a new job. Cue 'hilarity' as she puts on a fake baby bump and tries to drag her fib out for nine months. During which time she suddenly becomes beloved by her co-workers and gets promoted for no damn reason.

And the worst part? This movie is practially going Direct to DVD.

I don't know whether to feel sorry for the girl or laugh at her.

She's making more money than you ever will. Why would you feel sorry for her?

Well, she did once have a promising career.  Then again, she was the one who derailed it.  I don't hate her, so I hope she gets her shit together, does some good indy stuff, and gets herself back on track.

[Edit] It also wouldn't hurt if she would eat a damn sandwich. [Edit]

If the baby bump comes from the actress actually putting on weight, I might consider some interest in it.  :P
Love doesn't hurt. It kills.

I've always kinda felt sorry for Lindsay Lohan.  I feel like she genuinely doesn't want the tabloids to paste her private life all over the world.  Maybe that's just me.

The first thing I thought of when I read the part about her faking the pregnancy throughout 9 months is Little Otik. Now a remake of that would be a cool movie for her to be in.

Plastic Self-Cleaning Duck

There was a story in the news recently about a woman who faked a pregnancy,  Her neighbors even paid her rent and utilities for awhile.....

QuoteBerlin, DE -13 Feb. 2009- A pregnant woman rushed to the hospital to give birth shocked doctors and staff when it was revealed that what she had passed off as a fetus for months was in fact a large block of cheese.

The woman, whom hospital administrators have refused to identify due to confidentiality rules, has a history of mental illness, according to medical records obtained from people close to the situation. Not only has she been detained in the past for public disturbances, but she has been on significant doses of anti-depressant and anti-psychotic medications for many years.

One attending doctor, speaking on the condition that they remain anonymous, remarked that it is not uncommon for some individuals to fake medical conditions in order to gain attention and financial support. Using cheese to fake a pregnancy, however, seems to be unprecedented, even among the mentally ill.

"Beyond weird," remarked the doctor. "I don't know how one would do it, but it must take an unwordly level of self deception to even conceive of something like this."

What's more, the woman had apparently registered herself at several stores for an upcoming baby shower and had been regularly consulting an obstretician by phone.

With so much contact with others, it is unclear how she was able to keep from revealing herself for so long. According to sources familiar with the matter, all of her neighbors believed her to be pregnant, and had helped her pay her rent and shop for baby clothes and furniture.

Around 4 am on Thursday, after the woman was heard complaining loudly of severe pains outside an apartment building. Neighbors, assuming that she was in labor, took her to an emergency room where doctors uncovered a sodden and moldy mass of what they later determined to be several bricks of cheddar cheese bound together with twine.

Residents of the apartment building refused to comment, and the woman has been detained pending further psychiatric evaluation.

Where do I find neighbors like this?

So, the plot of this movie isn't that far fetched.

In reel life, hilarity ensues.

In real life, you get admitted to the psych ward.

First thing I thought of was her trying to sneak nachos into a football game

I'm quite a connoisseur of celebrity gossip (I'm not proud of this, but it's who I am), and the main thing I've learned is that 99% of people who end up in tabloids are in there of their own volition.  They call the photographers and let them know where they are.  My friend who works at New Line was outside for a cigarette and actually watched Kate Beckinsale call her publicist to notify the paps of where she'd be.  Apparently, this is the norm.  They feed off it, which makes sense.  It's the very low self-esteemy "any attention is good" school of thought.

PS - I think it's somehow worse that the movie is going to ABC Family first, then DVD.  It's like a different level of shame.

That e-harmony clip is kinda cool.  She looks too thin, but at least she seems to have a sense of humour about the whole thing:
