Avatar.

I found watching it to be a very different experience when I HAVEN'T smoked enough pot to knock out a small elephant.

A lot less use of the word "woah" on my part.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?

Plastic Self-Cleaning Duck

The 3-riffer version of Night of the Living Dead...

Funny, funny riffs....

Kind of odd that with three people talking instead of just Mike, you can hear more of the dialogue in this version....  Probably the drink recipes.   ;)

Yeah, I checked that out a bit ago myself. It was actually my first time seeing Night of the Living Dead as well. I liked both the movie and the riffing.

Avatar.  Hoooooly crap.  73 hours of laughs, and just when I thought my diaphragm couldn't take any more punishment, Disembaudio starts singing over the credits.  I woke up two hours later in a hospital bed.  :D :D :D
That's all you got, bitch?

I'm fairly certain I know this person.

Yes, yes you do.  Bitch!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Boy, I thought LOST was hard to figure out! My HP loving friend always drags me to these movies when they are first released and then I end up watching the rifftrax of each. Even though I've watched these films twice, I never seem to have a clue what the hell is going on and why everyone is doing what they are doing. When I watch these Harry Potter trax I always find myself wondering how in the world I got through these films in the movie theater. And they go on and on and on......These films are good for one thing....being riffed on. The boys can't go wrong with these movies even if they tried. If there happens to be one scene without much to riff on just wait about two minutes and there is bound to be somebody with one eye show up or a 100 year old guy in a goofy hat and weird robe or a horny ghost or something or other. Like the other three, this fourth Potter film is very entertaining and provides plenty of laughs. Perhaps not quite as strong as the first three but still a lot of fun. I thought it started real strong, was a little weaker in the middle, and then picked up again at the end. I know I've said this before but I think these really really long trax go down better when you split it up into two viewings. I love the jokes about the dangers of Hogwarts for children and how everything Harry touches at Hogwarts tries to kill him! I hope they end up riffing the whole series despite the length of these monsters and my continued bewilderment when I make the mistake of trying to figure things out.

Planet of the Dinosaurs.

I'm always a little wary of the REALLY bad movies. I've found with some of them, that the movie can be so bad that even good riffing isn't enough to save the experience.

In this case, I was wrong. It was one of the funniest Rifftrax they've done.

Watching the first part of 300 now. This is a great riff, but nothing can make this Spartan society redeaming! Just disgusting, I don't give a damn if they made good soldiers. All they have proven is that you can beat a kid into a good soldier. Um... haven't many parents proven that you can forcably make a kid into a good pop star (Michael Jackson), or a golfer, or damn near any sport of profession if you start when they are young enough? And we know that size of babies has absolutely nothing (save for actual pre-natal deformaties, many of whom are not visible at birth) to do with the size and strength they will be as an adult! And a society based solely on only ONE thing is not a stable society, now wonder they failed.

On a side note, the reauthor job by Thrify is very good. The sound levels are perfect to hear the dialog and the riffs. Thanks, Thrifty!

Jurassic Park - wasn't a huge fan of that Riff, the ones with a celeb seem to be a bit weaker.  The Willy Wonka one is pretty good, though.

Avatar - Fantastic, one of the best I've seen yet.

Drag me to Hell

This was my Halloween night choice. I had been putting this trax off for a looong time because I hated this film in the theater. Mike and Bill do a decent job but this is not their best. Kevin's presence is missed. I watched this at a friend's house. Halfway through the film my friend's wife came home and started watching. For ten minutes she was laughing at the riffs harder than anybody else. Then suddenly she says 'Is this that deal with the guys that talk over the movie?' We tell her yes. She gets this big scowl on her face and then starts playing with her cell phone. She paid some attention to the trax after that but did not laugh once. It took every ounce of effort to not comment on this. It's strange how some of the fun for me is ruined when I'm watching an MST/Rifftrax with someone who isn't enjoying it. Usually I'm with folks who are into it.

I've just poured a delicious adult beverage and am enjoying Iron Man for the second or third time. I only get about one night a week to myself at my place, and I usually fill it with riffs.

Do you have any idea how hard it is up here for a pimp?
They're my duck feet.

I finally got and watched Twilight a few nights ago.  Pretty funny.

I'm trying to watch HS musical now, but....holy fucking shit is this awful.  The music is like my soul being raped.  I think I may have to skip the songs if I'm going to get through this.
Don't skip the song when the borther and sister are auditioning, the riff of their song medley is the best part of the Rifftrax.

Prince of Space 5049

The Dark Knight

Once again, here is a Riff I originally hated!  Maybe it was still to close to Heath's death, or the phase of the moon, who knows?  All I know is, over a year later I watch a hated Riff, only to thoroughly enjoy it.  I've noticed the same thing with MST3K.  Once, I hated the teen exploitation episodes.  Now they are among my favorite.  Go figure........... :-\

Matrix and Matrix Reloaded.  Solid riffs, and I'm reminded how good the first movie really is.  The reveal when he wakes up in the goo-pod flipped my "whoah" switch when I saw it in the theater.  The second one... holds me until the highway scene as long as I can skip the confusing Smith crap but then drops off a steep cliff.

I'll probably brave the 3rd one again this week to complete the set, but man, what a dogwash of a film. The 2nd one clearly sets up the "Matrix within a Matrix" plotline; I mean, it bashes you over the head with it repeatedly, yet the 3rd one is about...

CGI Battle mechs shooting CGI shells at CGI invaders?

Was digging through a spindle of old CD/DVDs and stumbled upon my old re-author of "Point Break". A little bit inconsistent in places, the movie itself is entertaining for the most part but limps to an ending... and there were a noticeable amount of riffs that fell flat for me... But when it's all said and done, the high level of laugh out loud gut busters more then offsets the rough patches. Mike latched onto Swayze, Keanu, Gary Busey and Lori Petty and dropped plenty of big belly laughs.

Speaking of the old Mike solo riffs... Of course, they have a somewhat different vibe from the now standard 3-man booth... With nobody else to banter with, except maybe the occasional "let's throw Disembaudio a bone" dialog, the riffs seem to be very focused on the movie. This leads to riffing that is generally more sparse in terms of frequency,  but the source movies are given more room to breath... and many of Mike's solo efforts give me a "less is more" feeling in regards to the overall experience.

For anybody who came to the Rifftrax party late and has steered clear of the solo riffs because "more riffers" must equal "more fun"... I would suggest you give some of the solo work a try. In my opinion, Road House and Crossroads still compare very favorably to anything I have seen that they have released since. Point Break, Cocktail and Over the Top are very funny as well.
