Sidenote: I might rent this on Saturday.

Wuss. I'm buying this puppy. It'll go proudly on my DVD shelves, right between "Jumper"  and "Nick Fury: Agent of Shield."

(Well, okay. It'll actually go between "True Lies" and "UHF" since I alphabetize them.)

Well, Arnie would be able to keep it from spreading anything to the rest of the DVDs. But Weird Al? I dunno if he's strong enough...

I think the Twilight Awards take the cake over the rest: http://www.bordersmedia.com/twilight/images/TwilightMovieAwardsBallot.pdf

Best Baseball Player anyone?

Best vampire effect:
Tree climbing
Sparkling
Superhuman speed

Since when are those 3 vampire effects?  And since when were those good special effects?

Anyway, I'm glad I work at Blockbuster and not Borders, though I'll still be there till 1am

I can verify from personal experience that adult females are wetting themselves over this movie.  My fellow thirty-somethings are throwing HUGE parties this weekend complete with bloody Mary's.  I plan on spending my Saturday doing what I always do.  Watching Real Sex on demand.  I'm a purist.

Me too. I went to get my hair did today and the middle aged girls were all cooing over Twilight and were asking me who my favorite was, etc. They didn't seem to care that I just said, "The sparkly one." and had no clue.  They kept talking about how great a book series it was and how they couldn't wait to see the movie this week (one was throwing a party too).

The draw of Harry Potter was less confusing to me, and yes I have attempted to read Twilight book 1.  I almost stabbed myself about 50-75 pages in.

Does Alice sport a solid OPS+? If so, she's my choice!

:D

Why not, I'm going to pickup a copy and have a double-shot of Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers & Twilight on Saturday night.

I tried to get into the books but felt I was sinking into a pile of crap.  No offense but if I want vampire love I will read the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlene Harris.  They're more fun.

I just couldn't get into Sookie Stackhouse.

Undead and Un___, on the other hand, was a little iffy going in, but wormed its way into my heart. n.n

Sparkly vampire jokes have lost their novelty, but, best vampire effect, tree climbing? xD Win.

Hmm. Maybe it's a kitchen item because it makes a serviceable coaster or cutting board? =o

Okay first of all how is filling out a form "watching the fun unfold"?

And this is my favorite choice: Edward extricates himself from the kiss by springing
backward to the wall

I've done this so many times...
I sat in the auditorium for a few minutes tonight and caught the 'springing backward to the wall' bit and had to fight back laughter.  My immediate thought:
He takes coitus interuptus very seriously.

I think "springing backward" is called "coily interruptus."

The key is too assume it will be worse than E-ragon. Then you will be happily surprised that twilight is no where near that bad. :D

The DVD commercial piqued my interest, and I had to see where the closest release party is for a smile. Oh and I took the Twilight character quiz-thingy...

Is that good?

Sidenote: I might rent this on Saturday.
Eh...kind of. If you don't notice the parts of her personality where she is whiney and self absorbed

Ack! That sucks!  :D

Who has time to to put crap like this together and where to I sign up? Because I bet they get paid a shit load of money for it!

Pixie, you should place together a "Ronin Fox Trax" party checklist!

I'm assuming you got your copy today, right?  :D

I disagree.

Eragon showed people that works can be derivative and cliched.

Twilight showed people why so many authors choose to avoid originality and cling to derivative tropes and cliches.
