Yeah, I really don't get it.  Seeing CT live was amazing, don't get me wrong, but I just don't see how they'll stay relevant without releasing DVDs.

Actually Joel just posted a new blog -- it looks like no more DVDs.  The previously announced 3 have been canned.

What the hell? So to see anything new from them I have to pay over $100 for my wife and I to go see them live as opposed to $10 for a DVD download. Whatever. They definitely lost a customer there. As much as I love Joel and the rest of CT, I think that's a HUGE mistake.

I agree with the Poster above- seeing live is great but its $$$. for me and my girlfriend was transportation to chicago, a weekend of meals and the tickets- not cheap;)

Hey, at least it's even an option for you.

Not really. I got bills to pay. At least Rifftrax has it right. What I paid to go see the Rifftrax Live show here in my own little suburb is about $20 less than ONE ticket to go see CT. Bite me, Joel. As cool as they were at the show I went to the year before, the price of a ticket went up about $10 each and if that's the only way I get to see CT, then they choose to alienate those of us who have other financial obligations.

I agree with basically everything that's been said already....  I understand they enjoy doing the live thing, but if they rely on it only, with no DVD's for those of us who can't always go out of our way to see the live show, they are alienating their audience.

I have a feeling they may return to DVD's once they realise people just don't care enough without hope of a DVD to own.  I know I don't.
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Actually Joel just posted a new blog -- it looks like no more DVDs.  The previously announced 3 have been canned.

Someone asked J Elvis about this on Twitter and he said, "I wouldn't say no more dvds, we just decided we aren't done having fun doing this batch of movies live yet." There are still going to be at least three more DVDs in the distant future, we just don't know when.  I don't think this blog either confirmed or denied a possible end of studio DVDs. Some fans believe that the Titans are working out a longer buffer between studio DVD releases so they can tour more, then record studio releases after working the material out over several performances.  They might have plans to work out a way to record live shows at the venues. Maybe record them during the last two live performances when the material is solid.  I don't think they want to ignore visitors to the website entirely, especially those who are hoping to buy something from the store during the Christmas season. It's also possible that they are having issues getting the rights to more movies, so they're sticking with these titles as "live exclusives" longer than they originally planned. It's not like Cinematic Titanic has the same options that Rifftrax does after all. Maybe their new deal with The Agency for the Performing Arts will help them in this respect.

Well.......... disappointing.
Waking up to this update just put me in a ILL MOOD

Well, as I said before.. They've lost my business; probably for good! :grr:
As a business owner, cutting out your nationwide (actually world wide) fan base Is NOT a very brilliant, nor successful business strategy ::)

They'd Best Find a way to produce more DVD's in the near future, or I look for this 'Titanic' to eventually repeat history like their Predecessor..

And to think the hours I wasted creating the poster for "Dangers of Tiki Island"!

Maybe they will come back and record them in a few months.

I am sure this is what they wanted to do and believe they can make money doing this however, for me anyway, I would rather spend ten dollars on a DVD that I can watch again and again vs. fourty for a live show that is one and done.    I DO have my tickets for the November show in STL though.

Well there's only so many times they can do live shows of the same material before it gets old..

I've already shuffled the CT DVDs to the misc. shelf (preparing for the long, if ever, wait) to make room for more RiffTrax's!

Well when you go see them in November (if they don't cancel the show :o ) relay a message to them to Put Out some more DVD's ASAP (assuming none have been released by then)

Recording a live show and selling stills sounds like an awful idea.  It will not look good at all.

True.. True..

They just need to figure out how to 'pace' themselves... Like bands do with concerts:

Release a new album (or DVD in this case) then Tour doing live shows promoting it. It's Simple!! :o
