Why are your backgrounds always stretched horizontally?

Why are your backgrounds always stretched horizontally?

A lot of movies, I couldn't find a wide, decently high resolution image, so I worked with what I had.  Lot of them had a vertical rectangle movie poster-ish shape, like this one for Battlefield Earth.  Since DVD Lab works with horizontal rectangles in an aspect ratio closer to what you'd see on an actual TV, it stretches everything to fit.

Some, such as Aeon Flux, Independence Day, Terminator 3, and Alien, look a little crisper because I had some better source images to work with.  Like this one for Aeon Flux.
