Will this RiffTrax work with the 2004 "Trilogy" Edition?

I have the "Trilogy" Edition of Ep. 4,5 and 6. I think this is the same one as the "enhanced" version on the disk that is on Amazon pointed to by the web page here.  123 min long, 2004. Anyone know if these are the same? I'd hate to have to buy the movie again.

I think they have said that all of the DVD releases for this one are the same.  So if you have A New Hope on DVD, it will work.  Just make sure you watch it with the special edition version, which is on all of the DVD's released.

It might not work with the original VHS Special Edition releases, as I believe they did some further tinkering on the film for the DVD release.

OK, thanks. Between your answer and after wading through a *lot* of customer reviews on Amazon, I think you're right - my 2004 "enhanced" DVD version is the same as the one in the 2 disc set. And since the gang riffed on the "enhanced" version, I'm set.

Yep, you're golden, as is everyone with any official DVD release of Star Wars.

Yep.  Even the DVD sets with the theatrical version came with the SE version also.  If you have an old VHS tape, you are looking at pausing it a few times for a grand total of three minutes.  I'm sure it would be a pain, but nothing impossible by any means.

I'm pretty sure getting it in synch with the original version would in fact be impossible.

FWIW, here's the list of DVD's published for Star Wars (Procedest thou directly to Episode IV, IV being the first movie, so that thou mayest blow the Death Star into tiny bits, in thy mercy. Episodes I, II, III, V, and VI are RIGHT OUT!)

;D

I have the Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen Edition with Bonus Disc) and of course the first movie (Episode IV, sir!) works perfectly for both Rifftrax and the iRIFF. I put both tracks together on one DVD after much editing and watched them through and they work great.

I still have my "original", "not quite cinematically disfigured" VHS three-pack collection from the early 90's buried somewhere. Scares me to think there are people just as "old enough to refuse to vote on principal" as these tapes are...
