My parents both love Ishtar and Waterworld.

I wonder if I should commit them now or later?

Ishtar was a great comedy that was judged purely on the basis of budget. People hated it before they went into the movie, so it was doomed to fail. Had the exact same movie, frame for frame, been made on a lower budget with Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase, it would have been a huge hit. It's the same style of humor as Spies Like Us and the Hope/Crosby Road... movies. There's no good reason why Ishtar should be regarded as one of the worst movies ever made. If you ask someone what exactly is wrong with Ishtar, they can't think of a single reason. If the amount of people who hated the movie had actually gone to see it, it would have done better at the box office.

Sounds a lot like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Not even Aykroyd and Chase could have saved that one.

(I'm kidding, I never saw Crystal Skull.)
This iRiff will only be on sale for another few hours. Get it while it's cheap!

Doctor Who?

The Marx brothers with the Three Stooges couldn't have saved KOTCS.

Tripe

Doctor Who?

Yeah maybe if we added Bruce Cambell that could have saved it.

I believe the most ridiculous movie related thing I've heard went something like:

What can make you move?
Chihuahua
Can you feel the groove?
Chihuahua
What can make you dance?
Oh Chihuahua!
What can make you sing?
Chihuahua
Take it and you win.
Chihuahua
What can bring you joy?
Oh Chihuahua!

Relaxing Dragon

At one point I showed a friend of mine the rifftrax for 300. This is an actual quote afterwards:

"OK, Meet the Spartans was funnier than that."

Needless to say, I had to shun him for a bit.

Doctor Who?

Fuzzy Necromancer

Will Smith never made a bad movie, he just acted in some of them.
Love doesn't hurt. It kills.

"Where there's smoke, there's a smoke-making machine."

But really, the frequent praise for The Phantom Menace Rifftrax ranks up there.  It's like one of their most popular ones, highly lauded, and very well selling, and it was terrible.

People flipping out over The Dark Knight on this board has to rank up there somewhere.  I was crucified for merely suggesting that I hadn't seen it yet, because I had assumed that I wouldn't like it.

Likewise, people calling the "best movie ever made."
