It was one of the numerous Friday the 13th sequels.  My cousin was babysitting me and forced me to watch it because I was a huge scaredy-cat (I was even afraid of Disney fare like Mr. Boogedy).  I think he was either trying to baptize me by fire or just have a good time reducing a small child to tears, but neither happened.  The movie was so boring and over the top that for the first time I was taken out of my usual entrancement with all things television to realize, "Hey, this is really dumb".

that's just how we ride.

It wasn't a movie, but on a late Sunday night when I was 7...I saw the Star Trek episode, "Arena", and that was it, the goofball was born. I still to this day haven't seen any other episode of Star Trek but do know I love the Gorn!

Probably The Karate Kid 2.  I remember thinking The Karate Kid was so awesome and couldn't wait for the action packed sequel full of karate goodness.  Instead we got toy drums and girly slap fighting.  At least we got a good hit song out of it.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

Jurassic Park III. The first time a movie being bad actually mattered to me, as I'd been watching MST for years by then.

I remember being so excited for this movie. I've never felt more crushed in my life.
Killing me won't bring back your Goddamned honey!

#1 - Life Force.  I honestly expected this one would would rock.

#2 - Some sort of horror movie with a mutant boy under a porch and a girl that turned into a fish-woman with gills.  It was so bad that me and a couple of other folks in the theater started impromptu amateur riffing.  Got into a huge fight with my then-GF for being arrogant.  I tried to point out that even though I didn't know jack-poope about making movies, I STILL could have made a better one than that one, whatever it was.  By accident.

#3 - Thin Red Line.  Holy Roly-Poley that's a real cornhole of a movie.

You're trying too hard to convince us you were that cool. Sorry, I don't buy it. You were probably first in line to get the "Greedo Shoots First" action figure.

Well, I'll give you that if you only saw the special editions on VHS, you totally missed the point. Seeing it in the theater was an experience that CGI could only ruin for the most bitter, jaded person. Seeing it on VHS just meant they replaced parts of your previous VHS with crummy CGI.

Chaos

I just meant that you should stop making baseless insults having nothing to do with what he was talking about. I'm not disagreeing with you about the rest of what you were saying. ;)

Um... is it wrong to, having seen the title, think this would be a much dirtier thread than it is?
Show me on the doll where the mean movie touched you...

Man I was all ready to say "Blame it on Rio" then I actually read what the thread was about, I will have to think about it!
