This movie kicked so much ass it's not even funny. On the IMAX screen, and with their thunderous sound system, it was even better. Definitely a movie I will be going back to see at least once more before it ends its theatrical run, and hopefully there will be an extended, extra-violent cut released on DVD when the time comes. I could've sat there for another whole hour watching people getting speared and sliced.

Awesome film, not just comic book-y but really entertaining and fairly mindless. Just what I want on a Friday night.

Yeah, baby!!! That's what I'm talkin about!  The movie just RAWCKED!!!!  As I said, I am a student of the Classical World, blah blah blah, but I am also a Frank Miller fan, and this book and movie just slaughtered me!!

Our society sometimes makes us a little ashamed of being men.  I mean, look at your average sit-com, it's always some dumb fat guy married to a smart cool woman who is always the voice of reason.  Now, I understand this is the pendulum swinging back from the days when the woman was a "dingbat" and the man was always the voice of reason.... believe me I get that...  My whole religion is about Matriarchy...

But, this is my whole point for this thread.... every once in awhile, it's nice to see a flick or a show or read a book that just makes you feel PROUD TO HAVE A PENIS!!!  And if you can't get that, then I just don't know what do to for you...

You know I didn't even think about it in that context. My father has walked out of the room many times when your Kings of Queens and Home Improvement-wannabes eschew actual comedic writing for "the father is so dumb!" type mentality. It does grow rather irksome and, while I understand the need to portray females in a positive light, is it always necessary to have the Yin-and-Yang relationship? The wife is smart, so she can take care of her dumb, fat, ignorant husband? Way to take two steps forward, one step back, America!

But yeah, 300 kicked ass! I will be seeing it again soon.

I saw the movie earlier today and I thought it absolutely rocked.  I was astounded at how full the theater was for a 4:00 showing. 

For those who have seen the movie, you have to admit that if there hadn't been any slow motion the movie would have been about 20 mintues long.  Not that I'm complaining, I thought that the one of the reasons that the movie was so amazing was the level of detail you could see with the high speed cameras.

7.) Butler -- what can I say? Perfect choice for Leonidas. Perfect. His eyes even resemble that intensity that the novel portrays. I was held aback that he captured the character so well. Bravo!

I think Butler was fantastic as well, but I kept expecting him to break out into song Phantom style.

Well it COULD be argued that Queen Gorgo was a more sensible Yin to Leonidas' big ol' Yang... :^)

Believe the hype, people! This movie rocked the house. I've heard applause at the end of movies on rare occasions before. This was the first movie where I heard WAR CRIES! :^) It does stir something primal in this timid male's body. It is essence of cool, and I suspect it could even be the first comic book movie to win an acadamy award for best picture. Everything works. Period. Loved it, loved it, loved it. :^)
