Equal time for RiffTrax on the DMZ

I attempted, albeit somewhat tentatively, to mention this a while back.  I joined the "DMZ' , the membership/online community of fans of The Dennis Miller  radio show.  To my shock and awe, it turns out that Dennis (as well as some of his fellow SNL alums) are big fangs of cheesy sci-fi/horror movies in general, and for Dennis, a BIG fan of MST3K specifically (or at least the Joel years)  He did so in an interview of Joel on or about March 19th, I believe .

The interview was centered in no small part to CT.  If Dennis is aware of RiffTrax, he's yet to make it apparent on his show as of yet.  I have made at least one request on their forums to have Mike (and possibly Kevin and Bill) be on to introduce  RiffTrax to Dennis and his listeners.  So far, except for myself and one other MST/RiffTrax fan, we're all alone out there.

So I have this cunning plan...

While there IS a $5 a month membership fee, they have the option to try it free for a month, complete w/ access to the forums. So mayhap if some of us here were to assert our presence over there.  From what I've learned by listening to the show's archives, it seems like a perfect fit.  Dennis has made several references to MST3K since his interview of Joel.

Hope I didn't step on any toes here, torgos, I was assuming that Mike (and perhaps kevin and Bill) would relish the opportunity to go on.  So that begs the question, am I stepping out of bounds here?  It may be that Mike's schedule wouldn't allow for any immediate openings, I realize.  I'm just curious if he would be open to it at some future date.  If it's not too inconvenient, might you broach the subject w/ Mike and report back first, before we forum members unleash ourselves on the hapless members of the DMZ?  Thanks...

When was the last time Mike even gave an interview? To a certain extent the Rifftrax 'snow ball' is big enough let it market itself for awhile.

C'mon...  global domination over all other forms of entertainment doesn't come easy.  Especially with the holiday season now upon us as it is.  Eternal vigilance, not complacency, is what will carry the day....

Dennis tends to do a bang up job touting people and products that he believes in.  Plus I've been listening to his show rand lurking amongst the forums for some time now.  There's an almost palpable vibe going on there, very reminiscent of the one I've felt here, and not very many other communities to speak of.

To paraphrase Will Rogers, the members of the DMZ '...aren't strangers, just friends we haven't met...'

I would say go for it. Put a MST3K post on the DMZ forums talking about Rifftrax. That would be the best way to promote it other then what you were talking about having a interview. I don't believe its crossing the line because I have promoted Rifftrax on every forum that I am or have been apart of. Many friends and random people have also thanked me for showing them them. Most of them enjoy it when the three Mike Kevin and Bill are Riffing. :)
