I'm getting a little tired of all these recent movies.

She is a nerd.

She'd probably want to riff a Star Wars movie.

That'd be 43 kinds of awesome, but honestly she's way too big a star at this point to do it.

In the "she's too busy to do Rifftrax" way, not the "she's too good for Rifftrax" way, right?  ;)

I can see why someone would hate the Ocean's 11 riff. It's a comedy, it's not something most people would mention as a bad movie, it was co-riffed by an obscure random guest star, and it was sold as an official Rifftrax.

BTW, has that practice ended? Are all guest riffs going to be Rifftrax Presents from now on? Or is it still Riff Law that ANYTHING with Mike HAS to be a non-Presented Rifftrax? I know Rifftrax = Mike, so he "presents" Bill or Kevin doing riffs, but you know, since you danced on the grave of Fred Willard by redoing his track, I'd have thought the "Mike and some guy" riffs would be relegated to the "You might not want to buy it" category. Moviewise, there's no reason why Spider-Man 2 shouldn't have been a regular Rifftrax seeing how it completes a trilogy, but it was only in the Presents bin for lack of Mikeness. Heck, I know Mike's great and all, but it's not as if anyone who likes Mike doesn't like Kevin or Bill. I don't think that's possible, unless you only know him as "that bacon guy."

One genre that was great in MST which we haven't seen much in RT is sword-and-slash fantasy.  Dungeons and Dragons would make a great riff. :)

Eragon was close to that...but that is certainly debatable.  :)
Lord of the Rings was close as well.

Um, what about 300?

Let's face it, MST3K was about as perfect a format for this type of entertainment as we could get. They had the resources to license old movies that no one had ever heard of and present them to use with great little intermissions and the ever-present silhouettes. While the die-hard fans will special order rare DVDs and go hunting ahead of time, the majority of people out there base Rifftrax purchases off of what they (or a friend) have on the shelf or saw at blockbuster last week. The one advantage Rifftrax has over the TV show is that they can riff new movies - which just happen to sell easily. Can we blame them for using the one big advantage this medium offers?

Personally, I'd love to see Mike buy the rights to MST3K and use that as a brand to focus on older movies via streaming, DVD releases, TV, etc. This probably, won't happen... but a boy can dream, can't he?

The thing that's always baffled me about TPTB's stance on this situation is that they seem to flat-out refuse to riff any older movies anymore.  As if riffing one older movie now and then will run Rifftrax into the ground.  Yet, in previous years they riffed quite a few older movies and were still able to stay afloat.

What the Hell is TPTB?  Is it that difficult to write out sentences?

How much would the rights to MST3k be worth?

You gotta figure somewhere in the high 6-figure to 7-figure range.  Perhaps less when the box-sets have all been released.

maybe we can have a bake sale to raise funds to get them  :P
