I'm getting a little tired of all these recent movies.

Whoa, if you look at the later comments you come to the problem. Guy was putting far too much thought into this.  I think he overthought it to the point where it begun to outrage him, and there was no going back after that.  So please, don't do that!

However:

I've given up hope that Mike, Kevin, and/or Bill will ever start riffing older movies again.  I'm tired of beating my head against a wall.

At least we took care of that worry.

Man why are you guys only doing 70's movies? Why not do some classic 60's movies? You guys suck.

;D

I tried watching Dune once, and my brain almost exploded.

Or, most likely, by RVR II himself while puttering around the garage.

I'm always amazed that someone who self identifies as being a big fan of the comedy we do here could find one of them to be so objectionable that they get disgusted with us.  I think our work is pretty consistent, mood of the watcher or opinion of the movie in question would be far more variable.

This guy appears to have been so disgusted that he deleted his account.  The RiffTrax of Ocean's Eleven probably wasn't the only problem in this case.
I just finished reading this thread. WOW!

I'm a big fan of MST3K; I own every episode (fan or commerical release) and alot of the specials. I ran into Rifftrax by accident one day, looking for news on Mike, Kevin and Bill and what they were doing. I was pleasantly surprised to find this site, bought Harry Potter I and have been supporting RT ever since. I'm just glad to see/hear them doing comedy together again, personally. Nothing they've ever written or performed warrants deleting an internet forum account, IMO. If so, maybe he should double check his MST forum account and delete those too.  :-\

I know O11 wasn't the only problem, I just wanted to throw that out there 'cause I have a complelety different opinion of that RT.  :)

But I do agree with others that variety is a good thing. I was getting weary of comic book hero riffs, personally. It's nice to get a braek from those film types. Lately we've seen them mix things up in the genre category; that's one of the greatest elements of MST that made it work so well, IMO.  :)

Conor

Yeah, we were getting weary of comic book ones as well.  Was nice to switch it up for a while.

One genre that was great in MST which we haven't seen much in RT is sword-and-slash fantasy.  Dungeons and Dragons would make a great riff. :)

Eragon was close to that...but that is certainly debatable.  :)
Lord of the Rings was close as well.

RoninFox

Well, those certainly count, and they were hilarious, which to me is a great indicator that they can be done again.  I'd love to see more sword and sorcery stuff torn apart.  A friend of mine said he wanted to make a riff of the two Conan movies I almost felt like dancing.

It cracks me up to see this thread title still pop up after seeing the year begin with nothing newer than the 70s.

Oh, and while I'm here, Oceans 11 was a fun trax and Richard Cheese made a great guest.

I loved the Ocean's 11 Rifftrax and um . . . third the opinion that more fantasy/sword-and-sorcery movies would always be welcome.

I want some Chick Flicks riffed!

I'd love to see some more of those too, but unfortunately they are some of the lowest sellers.

What we need is, like, Tina Fey to do a guest riff.

I wonder if she likes MST3k.
