I watched it on a Mac G5 PowerPC using Safari with Earthlink on a 1.5 mbps ASDL connection.  In every act, there was choppiness and stuttering for the first 30 seconds or so, but after that the rest of the act played fine.  In one act (the first, I believe) the choppiness did result in the riff coming in slightly ahead of sync, but clicking on the timeline resolved the issue.

My main issue (other than the known issues, like lack of full screen) is the audio balance.  It was notably bad during the opening credits.  If somehow the audio signal of the riff could be used as a trigger to lower the movie/tv show volume, that'd be wonderful.

And I very much enjoyed the riff.  Being a long time Rifftrax/MST3K fan and having grown up with The Incredible Hulk as a favorite TV show when I was a kid, this was a wonderful combination.  Best of luck working out the bugs.

Racism

Blatant racism!

I is Inglish in Ingerland - and I'm not allowed it? It's my hair isn't it...? And my teeth. So they're a bit crooked - doesn't mean I should be denied stuff un that!

Looks rubbish anyway *grumble* and stoopid *moan* - I mean who ever heard of anyone THAT big?? Green maybe but THAT big! Sheesh - unbelievable.

And what the f*** is a proxy? Some kind of exotic sea creature that wades in shore with an internet connection on its back complete with telly so as all us "non-US" types can watch things from over there somewhere....?

Sorry.

It's late....

And maybe I should get out more....

Long live Merikka - we love you man

;D ;D ;D ;D - can't wait to see this tbh  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Jesus! Bad waves of paranoia, madness, fear and loathing, intolerable vibrations in this place. Get out!

There is no God, there's just Dude!

>:( this is a giant screw you to non-USA customers!
Use a proxy.

We tried that, Hulu figured out a way around them. Not sure how, but they did.
Really? Well I remember talking to some people overseas who found a proxy that worked, but that was a while ago, so they could have fixed it since then.

Yeah, that's one of the instances I'm referring to. Hulu got wind of the proxy and rejiggered their system to identify that type of circumvention, cutting off access to people using it. Really unfortunate. I'm sure we'll find a solution, just need more time.

I lost the rifftrax after a commercial (I was doing something else with the computer during it), but starting it over synced it right back up. Nice job. I notice 5th element is on hulu...

This video is not currently available at this site, but you can view this an other Hulu videos at Hulu.com.

Apparently I'm not fast enough to see the video.

I'd really honestly rather pay for both the RiffTrax and the original content than deal with any flash-bashed or other non-downloadable content. I'm all for automatic syncing, but I'd much rather you just published sync points in some parable (i.e. not .riff) format and let me find my own player than pretend that some proprietary play was desirable (or even adequate).

I know this has been said quite a lot of times, but I live in Mexico, so I'm pretty much stuck with NOTHING right now.

Well, to be clear, we never said (or eluded) that this would be the be-all, end-all of access. It's just another option, much like the VOD stuff. We want to see how well this test goes first. We will most likely sell the mp3 of this particular commentary in the near future, once the test is over. And in the future, if we do stuff like this, if it's possible for us to also offer the mp3 alongside the streaming content, we'll take measures to provide that as well.

Yes, sorry - this is a Hulu limitation and it has to do with digital distribution rights within specific regions. Sorry about that.

BlazingOwnager

It was technically flawless for me; no problems with the sync or performance.  Everything worked great!

From a customer standpoint, I really, really like this setup.  Obtaining the DVDs for the other Rifftrax isn't always easy, and it's the primary reason I've never been able to get any in the past.  However, I would really, really be interested in taking advantage of this with Hulu or other streamed media!  They have a wealth of great cheesy TV shows on there and it seems like a perfect fit.

I really hope to see more of these in the future.  I'm totally willing to buy them.

I didn't realize (or I probably just forgot) that Bill Bixby had passed away almost 15 years ago of Prostate cancer :(

After doing a Google search and catching up on his history, along with watching a couple of old, grainy clips of him, I came across an Entertainment Tonight clip recorded during his last days, and I have to admit I was touched by who he was as a person and how he battled cancer till his very last day by working as a producer of another old show I remember, 'Blossom'..

Switch browsers. I got the "Cannot stream video" problem in Chrome, but it works in Firefox.

a pretty girl is like

I didn't have any technical problems with it.   My only complaint (a minor one really) is one previously mentioned.  The sound on the Riff was a bit loud.  Louder than I would normally like it but it didn't take away anything from the Riff itself.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

I liked it. only thing I wish was way make the screen into full screen. I hate watched it on that little screen. I didn't see way make full screen like other hulu videos. Nice see Mike is getting on with hulu.

jx1

Worked great using latest version of firefox browser. Only nitpick as others have said is that I wish I could have watched full screen but that's probably just hulu's prob. You can't beat FREE, and you (meaning Me) have to LOVE RIFFTRAX! Grade A!!

Thanks for the feedback. We encountered larger variance in the perceived audio levels across different platforms than we expected. Not the RiffTrax guys fault. We'll definitely be looking at both automatic and user controlled mechanisms for improving that with subsequent releases.
