Doctor Who?

Yeah that part always makes me laugh but the rest of the movie is just so preachy.

First Contact is actually one of the Trek films I like best. My only big complaint is that the battle against the Borg Cube at the beginning could have gone on longer.

Oh...it's a great film.  It's just a bad Trek film.

How are we supposed to feel the same about most if not all the characters in this.  Especially about Picard and Data after this movie because of the way they act in this film.

I mean you realize that Data went "Buffalo Bill" in this film letting the Borg Queen tempt him with a skin suit made of body parts of his former crewmates (where do you think they were getting the flesh they were attaching to him)?

:D

But that's the thing - I hate Star Trek. So being a good film, but bad Trek, is actually a positive for me.

Star Trek II stands on its own as a good film - Trek or not. In fact, it was just plain a good naval war movie. It even had - and I can't believe I'm saying this - a genuinely good performance from Shatner. The Spock funeral scene (Sorry, I'm not using the spoiler tag. It's been 26 years.) was genuinely moving and was probably the best performance Shatner ever turned in in anything.

Perhaps my greatest criticism of it is that they should have left Spock dead. Even my hardcore Trekkie friends tend to agree here. I hate it when a character in anything dies and then gets brought back. It feels cheap - like my emotions were toyed with for nothing. Hell, I would have left Usagi dead at the end of the Sailor Moon R movie and wrapped the series there, which considering my feelings about the series past the Ail and Ann arc would have been an unalloyed positive.

Doctor Who?

I have to say i find all Disney movies to be overrated.

I mean The Lion King is good and all but it's not as good as people treat it.

Doctor Who?

Hamlet was just a cheap knock off of The Loin King.

The Loin King...?. That's an entirely different movie.   :)

No question about whether they could feel the love that night.

I'm actually a little surprised at all the Lion King love as well. It's a good movie, and I liked it, but I don't think it's nearly as good as it's made out to be (and not the best Disney animated movie, there's definitely better ones).

It's the circle-jerk of life.

See aside from depicting the gender heirachy in Hyenas pretty well, I can take or leave The Lion King. I did enjoy Confused Mathews review of it though.

Doctor Who?

I wasn't talking about The Lion King I was talking about the world's first animated animal porno.

It is way overrated.

I didn't really like X2 very much.  I only saw it once, but I really wasn't feelin' it, dawg.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.
