It's true that I sleep on bags of money, but it's still the same amount whether you buy it all at once or you buy it in installments, therefore it's not cheaper.  However, I did overlook things that you keep having to buy in between your paychecks, like food and rent.  Easily overlooked, I know, but that's still no excuse.  I apologize for my lapse in financial planning.

I start to get the shakes if it's been more than a week and a half and I haven't watched a Rifftrax. :^) I'm happy to get as many as I can as often as I can. I dread the inevitable hiatus and hope they toss a bone out every month or so at least during the slow periods. :^)

Personally, I love the fact that these rifftraxs are stacking up. Whenever I feel like it I can take a look on the site and go:
"What shall I choose!?"
And giggle frantically like a young girl or old man.

QuoteIt's because $3/week is a lot cheaper than, say $24 for 2 months' worth all at once

Here's some ideas to save money. For just just pennies a day, you can enjoy all the riffs you ever wanted:
1) Start a rifftrax savings account.  You can dig quarters out of the couch and deposit them every day! Those add up.
2) Have a rifftrax bake sale to try to raise money.  Make cookies shaped like toasters and hobbits and sell them to your friends!
3) Put out a donation cup at your local blockbuster.  Say it's for homeless movies or something.  People are suckers.  You could also claim you're a suicidal teenage girl who needs money to be happy and set out a paypal donation cup on your blog! Same idea.
4) Create a sign that says "Will work for riffs" and stand out in the intersection of your home town.  You may get several propositions for sexual favors, but hey, that's ok!  That'll buy riffs too.
5) Cut out the Starbucks or sodas.  You can use rifftrax to keep you awake.  Who needs coffee when you have Twitney bouncing half naked on a bed or Patrick Swayzee's shiny white rear.  Heck, after that your food budget for the week is going to take a nosedive anyway because you won't be able to hold anything down.  So there you go saving money yet again.

I've watched all of the rifftrax for which I have DVDs at least three times, now, and I wouldn't mind in the least if they doubled the release rate- they're pretty much the best thing there is for playing in the background with a video game, and I can go through five in a day.

Wow!  I definitely can't be doing anything else while I enjoy my Rifftrax, I wouldn't want to miss a thing.  You are the master of multitasking.

I'm the type of person who likes to drive while eating a Burger King meal and listening to a book on tape. What can I say? I'm the wind, baby.

It's also cool to have them playing while in the office, since over here it's considered "work." =)
I'm sorry, but I hate you now. Hate you.

The way I look at it, the more Rifftrax they make, the more money Mike, Legend, and/or Kevin/Bill make, the longer Rifftrax will be around. I don't have all the Rifftrax, mostly just the ones for the movies I already own. I say let the Rifftrax roll!

Ah RiffTrax...the 'new' drug for the misties.
Even if you can't afford it, you'll do what it takes to get it ;)

I have them all, and I re-author them. I like to stay on top of it, because if I don't, then it will get hard to play 'catch-up'. And its easier to spend a little now on one, then allot later on several.

That's strange, because they cost the same in both instances.  4+4 is the same as 4+0+0+0+0+0+0+4.  You will have spent the same amount in each case.  I'm having trouble seeing why it's easier.  Unless it's just our fear of bigger numbers.

Well , one time 32,098,987,001 snuck up on me and just scared the bejeebers out of me. Took me a week to calm down.
Big numbers are such assholes...
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

They are coming at a really fast pace, wow!  My netflix account is getting a beatdown!

However, Firewall was one of the best, up there with ST5.  However, it might be best to slow it down overall.  Really, Kevin and Mike, we love you!  I can't get enough, but man  ;D   It's hard to find the time sometimes!

Just throwing it out there, and I'm sure I might get flamed, but you all seem pretty level-headed here, so...

Are they releasing Rifftrax too often?

Now I realize this is a loaded question, since I'm as big a fan as any.  I own nearly everything that Mike Nelson & Co. has ever released to tape, DVD, and book.  However, in the pre-Rifftrax-post-MST3K era, Legend Films had released their "Mike" movies every other month or so (as I recall).  This was a manageable feat, and, combined with Rhino's semi-annual release of their MST3K volume sets, kept me in a healthy dose of my favourite riffer(s), and kept me in anticipation of what's to come.

With Rifftrax being released on nearly a weekly basis, though, I'm finding my pocketbook and time to be taking quite the hit.  I'm not "well off" by any means, budgeting is essential.  With each Rifftrax averaging $4CDN, and DVD's averaging $10CDN (for purchase, yes I do this the legit way), adding 1-2 hours for authoring, and $2CDN for a blank DVD and case.  Add all that to the Rhino sets, and now the Film Crew will be releasing some "classics" in the Spring (which, too, can add up with currency exchange, shipping and all that).  We've gone from small tremors to an absolute explosion, and I'm having trouble keeping up.  I know I don't have to buy them RIGHT when they're released, but I can't very well help it.  As most of you can attest to, it's a bit of a hobby in itself and I REALLY don't want to have to pick and choose the one's I want.

My point is, would it be heresy to have a Rifftrax released every other week, or should I just be thankful that they're doing this for us at all?  When I got that first Fanclub e-mail that this site was up and running, I was literally beside myself with excitement, but now I'm finding myself struggling to keep up with the onslaught of hilarity.

Let me know if I've gone completely nuts, or if this is a valid point. :-

No.  Rifftrax are like Cadbury eggs - no matter how many of them there are, there are never enough of them.  There should always be more.  This pattern should continue until the "grey goo" hypothesis is finally fulfilled by Rifftrax, at which point the entire Earth will be consumed by hilarious Mike Nelson nanites.
Correction: the coat hanger should be upside down.

As far as I'm concerned, they can put them out as fast or slow as they like... I love having a stockpile to choose from, and I just don't have as much time to spend with my bestest riffer friends as I'd like. I say get them out at a comfortable pace for the creators, and keep them available FOREVER so that I'll always have something new to enjoy. The day I've seen them all will be a very sad day indeed!

I'd hate to suggest slowing down, it might stop!

After taking a break from them for a few "episodes", I feel better about them releasing as many as possible.  Keep it up!
