Does the "worshipping Satan" stuff bother anyone else?

that's just how we ride.

I wasn't bothered by the riffs themselves (they were quite funny at the beginning). I just thought they over did them. Which stands out all the more because they usually are so good at avoiding that.

That's what I thought, started out as a funny dig at the people that try to ban Harry Potter but got over used by the end.

I think maybe one or two of those would be good, but harping on something everyone who didn't try to ban HP for agrees on is a bit much. Agreed that its fairly obvious that they're riffing the people who thought it was so, and not saying that HP was demonic or anything.

Pak-Man

Except they were funny. I was particularly amused by Bill's reading of, "Of Course! Satan! Duuuh!"

You know, this is the second thread to bring up these kinds of concerns. Anyone remember RandyMistie?

This time around I have the sense not to pick any fights over it, though.

It was just a question, to see what people thought.

It bothered me not out of any religiosity, but out of historical inaccuracy.

I can't speak for the other thread, but I would certainly hope nothing in this thread would be worth fighting over.
I calculated the odds of this succeeding versus the odds of me doing something incredibly stupid, and I went ahead anyway.

What historical inaccuracies??

They were very inaccurate about the true history of Voldemort.  They misspelled his name, got his nationality wrong, and it turns out he didn't hate "non-magic" people as much as a certain chosen people of Israel.

In fact, Voldemort really did a lot of good. He stabilized the economy, created a national highway system....

I think he means the whole "paganism = satan worship" thing, in which case he's equating the kind of modern paganism that gets those kinds of accusations with actual historical paganism, which is an ironic kind of historical inaccuracy in itself. But I'm not doubting his sincerity or anything.

Historically speaking, were there satan worshippers?
