What did you think of this one? Did Marlon Brando really out-crazy most actual crazy people? Discuss here!

Oh, man, I'm excited. My DVD just showed up in the mail five minutes ago.

edit: Holy crap, David Thewlis is the guy from Naked! I knew I recognized that name.

This movie is just a celestial convergence of talented people making crap. And also Fairuza Balk.

Whew!  That was a doozy of a film.  Never seen it before, but yeesh.  Got to lie down after that one.

The RiffTrax, of course, was hilarious as always.  Props to Mike and Kevin sitting down through this one.   ;D
By the way, I was being sarcastic.

I'm so confused! So many confounding scenes! I think my brain blew a fuse (same with Mike and Kevin it seems).

Huh. I actually kind of enjoyed this. I mean, it's certainly by no means an entirely good movie, but I think I could watch it without the riffing  without wanting to kill myself (which makes it unlike, say, The Grudge or xXx.) I thought the performances were pretty entertaining, in a ridiculous, over-the-top, Pacino in Devil's Advocate kind of way. And it occasionally managed suspense or atmosphere without resorting to just making everything quiet for fifteen minutes.

Don't get me wrong, the animal costumes were goofy, the end was exceedingly protracted, the story didn't have much internal logic, and Thewlis wound up looking completely lifeless next to the utterly loopy Kilmer and Brando, but I'd say this was better than 5th Element, and thus the best of the bad movies done thus far (meaning everything but X-Men, Lord of the Rings, and the Matrix.)

I heard the killing off brando had something to do outside events rather than the script.

Loved the Riffs!! This one does not disapoint  8)

I had some real sync issues with this one. Perhaps the movie I rented? Seemed like the trax kept falling behind.

My re-author worked fine for this one and its great so far. I noticed Mike threw in a Robot Monster quote about the 'HU-Man's LOL that was great.

From the IMDB:

QuoteMarlon Brando wore a small radio receiver to aid him remembering his lines. Co-star David Thewlis claimed "He'd be in the middle of a scene and suddenly he'd be picking up police messages and Marlon would repeat, 'There's a robbery at Woolworths'."

ACTING!

Great job!

Fave riffs:
Java, the source of all applets
If Club Med was designed by Pol Pot.
To hump like the mighty mink
Sir! Some of us are Devo!
Oh, like The Gap!
Nice! John Cage!
William Burroughs handled a pistol better than that!
...one of those weird Unitarian services...
"o/` ...little bit softer now... o/`"
"now I'm getting notes of woodchuck colon..."
"Shoot the mutt!!!"
"...with a boatload o' pet taxis."

Other observations:
An obligatory furries reference
Mike calls back "Robot Monster" with "to live like the hu-man"
Mike calls back "Bride of the Monster" with a 'rice-a-pipple speech' reference

Joke I didn't get:
What does "WILSON!!!!!" mean?

I think I laughed the hardest when he said that the porno title of this movie would be "The Thigh-Land of Dr. More Oh".

Made the same year was "The Island of Dr. Porneaux" which I found on IMDB.

Very funny RiffTrax. Good pace, lots of laughs.

The movie was lousy, but not as skin-peelingly awful as I expected. Just useless, confusing, and thoroughly unpleasant.
