Apart from thinking that Harrison's 'wife' in the movie is probably younger than his kids,

The crooks set up house with Ford's young, hot wife

C'mon guys, the actress who plays his wife in the movie, Virginia Madsen, is 45.  Hardly "young".

I saw Firewall on the last night of a train ride not 2 months ago from Toronto to Vancouver.  Sure we were passing through the Rockies, but it was pitch black out and I've never seen a movie on a train before so I made my way to the club car.

That was 90 minutes of my life I'm never getting back.

That reminds me: has anyone ever actually seen a good movie on a plane, train, or bus trip? I wonder if it's even possible to enjoy a movie on a tiny screen at a bad angle while trapped in a pressurized steel tube, your elbows jammed into your sides, slowly suffocating on stale, recycled air. It certainly didn't make Ocean's Twelve or In Good Company and better, that's for sure.

One of the best scenes from the movie.  Harrison somehow manages to just do one extended "Grumble" throughout the entire scene.

I played this last night thinking it was a preview of the Riff, and stopped it after a few seconds thinking it was just a clip of the movie you found. It might be wise for samples to start with a hilarious comment, rather than dull exposition. Y'know, for stupid guys like me.  ::)

I was stuck on a 2 hour plane back from a Botcon (Transformers Convention) a few years back. My wife (Then Girlfriend) had fallen asleep on my shoulder and pinned down one of my arms, so I couldn't effectively read or play Gameboy. The little monitor comes down and the movie was Spy Kids. I wasn't tired enough to sleep and the arm rest, for some reason, had the sound for the movie just barely audible in my left ear. I was a captive audience for the majority of the movie. The movie was bad. Bad enough, I'm sure, for those who could hear it clearly. Nightmarish when it's just a buzzing in your ear.

Which reminds me.
Mike: If you're out there, do Spy Kids for me. Riff it straight to heck. :^)

This movie is like imitation crab.

Is that some expression I'm not familiar with? You're going to have to espand on that statement.

Just read the below summary on Wikipedia:

"Harrison Ford stars as Jack Stanfield, a security expert at a bank faced with the prospect of a corporate merger and the offer of a new job."

Well, doesn't that sound exciting  :-

I've occasionally enjoyed movies on planes.  I thought the remake of the Bad News Bears was entertaining enough, although the end result was conclusive evidence that they had absolutely no reason to remake that movie.  It's like a producer threw a dart at their DVD collection and it landed on Bad News Bears.  However, I also saw that movie Far From Heaven with Julianne Moore on a plane, which was supposed to be excellent, and I just hated it.

I was on a bus trip once that played The Fifth Element and Red Planet back to back.  Seeing The Fifth Element on a bus illustrated to me just how irritating Chris Tucker is in that movie.  For some reason I had never noticed it before, but when you're on a bus, and there's really no escape from the movie, and you're just trapped there watching it, little things like a SCREECHING, nails-against-the-chalkboard voice become really annoying.  Red Planet just made me laugh at pretty much every turn.

I have a small request.  For the next twenty questions, after the game is over and the next Rifftrax is announced, could you guys refrain from mentioning the title of the movie in the subject line of the announcement thread.

I missed the twenty questions game, but it still would have been fun to read through the game without knowing beforehand what the next Rifftrax is.

Maybe you can make the subject of the announcement thread something like : "The 12/8 Rifftrax will be..." or "Next rifftrax announced! Details inside!"

Anybody else here have the twenty questions spoiled for them by seeing Firewall mentioned in this thread's subject line?

I remember quite a few years ago on a college trip to France, we were all stuck on a coach for 18 hours and the only video we had was Toy Story.  If I remember rightly, I think we watched that video 12 or 13 times for the whole trip.

Not a movie, but I saw my first episode of House on a plane, so I would say yes.  :)

Hey now, I've seen Titanic, The Ring, Aeon Flux and Cheaper by the Dozen on a plane....wait a second.

You're right.  No good movies on a plane.

I'd agree with that, for the most part. I honestly had no idea 20 questions even went on Friday, and the kicker was, I visited the site Sunday and still missed it and the announcement! :D

But yeah, a spoiler header type thing might be a nice consideration. Not a huge deal, but just a little thing. I don't know if I would read back through a 20?s like I would one of the crazy puzzles, but there are certainly people who will, like old MontyServo here :)

In any case, this could be a real good Riff movie... but our little gang is now hopelessly behind, so we probably won't get to this one until next year! We've still got SW, LotR, The Grudge, Island of Dr. Freaky Deaky and now this to watch. A backlog is good, but I hate being so far behind :) Just watched Top Gun Friday night finally... wow, that was good stuff. We laughed long time :D

My first time watching "Kung Fu Hustle" was on British Airways heading back out from Heathrow to San Francisco. That movie rocked! I think I watched a few other good movies on that plane ride (since it was a REALLY long plane ride...)

*thinking.....

Ah! "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" was also on. That was a pretty good movie also =)

However - I've been on /many/ plane rides so having just two movies stand out over 21 years doesn't say much for in-fliught movie selections.
