TGME Round 1: The Shawshank Redemption Vs. Aliens

Aliens is a fantastic horror/thriller movie but it doesn't dig up ground like The Shawshank Redemption does. That movie moves me everytime and makes me sad that it never one an Oscar.

Never was the biggest fan of the Alien series (They're great movies, but I'm a Predator man, and The Thing trumps all of them), but it doesn't matter to me since Shawshank is so ridiculously awesome. It definitely gets my vote.

Original or remake Thing?

Unfortunately I must abstain, having not seen Shawshank.

I know we have a thousand 'alien creatures eating people' type movies these days but this was the first and the best, not to mention that it predates the plague of CG. Bah, it's still in my top ten list.

Well...it's a sequel to one of the first and best, and still pretty darned good.

Obviously but it has a much higher bodycount than six, especially if you include all 70 colonist families, and this time they had guns. So, we have a lot more aliens eating a lot more people. It was the first of those.
