the fountain

[wesley]

did anyone get a chance to see it, if so... what are your thoughts?

i thought the visuals were nice but the plot seemed extremely muddled.

I thought I understood it.  But it's possible that I'm way off.

I loved this movie. It moved me in so many personal ways that pretty much no other movie of recent memory has been able to do. I think the plot and a lot of what happens is up to the viewer's interpertation but I do think that there are some very good theories....
for example:
I read in a review that they believed that future Tom was the present story line and that all else was flashbacks...which would blow your mind in acouple of ways if you think about it. 1. Future tom has the ring and leather pouch that spaniard Tom was given to by the Queen which could imply that tom either was with that tree or had visited it in the past... Future tom is also eating the tree's bark to keep living longer....there are acouple of major theories about that...the tree may be his wife...remember at the end when he planted a seed on her grave? Well the theory is that the tree he is traveling with is her and that is trying to take her to Xibulba...also the tattoo's on his arm...represent years ala tree rings..thats how many years he has been alive since he tattooed the ring on his finger...crazy I know

Before the trailers came out, I kept confusing The fountain with Pathfinder. I thought Pathfinder was just going to be a LOTR knockoff, but now I understand it's actually a decent storyline about a viking raised by Native Americans with no fantasy plotlines.
