The Second Civil War - A 1997 TV movie directed by Joe Dante. It's a satire comedy, although it isn't all that funny (although when the laughs do come, they are good). And given how uncomfortably dark it gets at the end, that puts the brakes on any laughter. I didn't really care for it. Dante is still a good director here. And the performances are all excellent, except for Elizabeth Peña's annoying reporter, and Kevin Dunn's on-again off-again southern accent.

Return of the Living Dead

Inconsistent, but not as bad as you'd think.  There are parts that are quite fun, there are surprisingly scary moments (like the first appearance of the Tarman) and though the set up is pretty cliche they make the most out of it.  After all, the idea of people trapped in a place surrounded by monsters is great nightmare stuff.  Still, most of the humour is pretty weak (it has a few good moments) and the ending feels like the writers painted themselves into a corner.  I mean, it's not great, but it's the kind of movie that works best when watching with friends.

I actually think there could be a good remake in this somewhere.  It's obvious that the writers didn't quite get punk culture, and I think as an 80's punk period piece it could be fun.

Who would think it's bad is what I meant.

I suppose the average Joe.  But I didn't think it had so much of a following among horror buffs beyond it as a guilty pleasure.  That is what it mostly is to me, but there's a lot of stuff I love in it.

Small plot hole that occurred to me: why didn't the zombies eat Trash's brains?  I mean, they make a specific point that it's only the brain they want, they could give a crap about the other flesh.  So why does she have a completely intact head.

Ghostrider 2...whatever it's called

Liked it.  Nicholas Cage at his hammy best, chewing the scenery and making it his bitch.

It really was hammy. Everyone went full on ham in that one -- Nic Cage, Idris Elba, and especially Ciarian Hinds.
