I'm not allowed to buy movies, only gas and food, I got these with Best Buy Gift Certificates.
Good lord, I'm in the same boat, jacob. Every now and then I'm allowed a Rifftrax or two. Otherwise it's only holidays and birthdays that I'm allowed any movies or games.

Used a little extra cash from my tax refund to pick up Volume 1 of the Cartoon Network version of Masters of the Universe, and one movie I picked up cheap and might just be one of my next riff targets (I got a nice little row of them on my shelf ready to go mwahaha)

Since I'll be buying No Country For Old Men next week, I thought I'd round out my Coen Bros movie collection. With these two purchases, I now own all their movies: Got them at a used shop for 5 bucks each.

I went a little nuts with the under £5 section on Amazon... Adventures In Babysitting? Awesome! -Rude Yes. I watched it a couple of days ago and it's still pretty good. Elisabeth Shue is lovely, and it had the added hilarity of Vincent D'Onofrio playing the Thor lookalike...! Oh, and Bradley Whitford as the moron who dumps Shue's character.

I'm always hitting the pawn shops where I live and I had pretty good haul my last time out. Thats pretty cool, I just picked that one up from a pawn shop about a week ago. Love that movie... I was surprised to find out that one of the scenes was different than I remembered. At the beginning when the robots are blowing up the tanks and the jeeps for a military demonstration, the people inside were test dummies. I watched the movie when I was a kid, but originally thought the military used real soldiers (kinda like a humans vs robots training exercise) that scene always stuck in my mind as senseless violence from the military. I probably had nightmares because of that shit Lol, sorry for the rant ... on topic... this week I've been on a HD-DVD kick ... grabbed these in HD: A Christmas Story (basically pointless to have this in HD since it uses a lot of camera filters ), Bourne Ultimatum, Transformers, Shrek the Third, The Departed, King Kong, Mission Impossible, The Frighteners, and Dune (don't like the movie ... gonna try to contribute to the fan riff)

Yes and No. Got a great deal on Dune- $12 from Amazon but apparently the price is back to 15 ... Mission Impossible was only 10 from DeepDiscount but its on backorder, King Kong was free (I was surprised that it doesn't have the extended cut, therefore has no commentary track. No biggie since I have it on DVD already), The Frighteners was 12 from DeepDiscount, and finally Bourne Ultimatum, A Christmas Story, Transformers, Shrek the Third, The Departed were all 10-12ish used on Amazon shipped (edit: Bourne was a local seller). Hopefully HD-DVDs show up for under 10 used in the future.

Looking at half.com, there's a bunch of hd-dvds that are in the $6-$10 range. Just type "hd-dvd" into the search bar.
