Thought I would try to get in a little "Hello!" to Mike and Kevin from an honest to goodness child of Manos: The Hands of Fate. Thanks for keeping the embarrassment alive.
My Father was the "Cop" (William Bryan Jennings).
Yes, really.

Wow, dude! Around these parts, that makes you a bonafide celebrity! I assume this http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0421110/ (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0421110/) is you, then?
Haha, awesome, welcome!
Did your dad ever mention anything about the experience of being in Manos?
Cool! Welcome! Did ya ever see the stage play version of your dad's movie?
Your dad being the cop on Manos and you being an actor is good recipie for another guest riffer.
*looks right, then looks left*, well, I suppose the others will be by soon to harass, er greet you (especially platypus) For the time being though maybe I can give you some things that will make your stay here a bit more ...interesting yeah, that's it... Here ye be... *Gives benton a tube with several pairs of designer Chin-der wear, a Big-Gulp Beret, and a Mexican Bean-Bag Chair...
Enjoy!

Mention? Shoot, dude, I was AT the premiere in EP and rode in the station wagon Hal rented to drive to Dallas to loop the dialogue.
I still have the EP County Sheriff's badge my Father was awarded "honorarily" at the premiere (most mentions of this only site same being given to Hal).
My Father was a very honorable man, so if anyone is looking for any "backstabbing" quotes about Hal or the film from him, there are none!

Nope! But I do know about it (and my older brother bought their DVD of it) .
I tried to send them an email, but never received any response...perhaps they :
a. Didn't believe who I was.
b. Were afraid of some kind of "legaL" actions (HA!)
c. Were scared of me ....(Manos, you know...OOOOOweeeeEEEEEEoooo!)

Wow! Thanks! No really.....I haven't had a good bean bag chair since my family moved from EP in '68.
Actually, yes and no, y'see that's actually a typo. It's supposed to be a 'Mexican Jumping Bean-Bag Chair' It's kind of an inside joke to most of us as the majority of members here are fans of MST3K. The items that I offer newbies and to b-day celebrants are all items featured during the shows' run, during the host segments, and referrred to under the collective term 'invention exchange'....

Still works. I grew up on the border in El Paso. I think I'll stop there before I get into trouble.
So did your dad get to loop any of his own dialogue? I actually kinda like the line "Whatever it is you're not doing, go don't do it somewhere else."

Yep. All his "Cop" lines are him himself talking (or whatever is grammatically correct).
Most articles about Manos state something like, "only 3 people looped all the voices" which is from what I can remember having rode (rid? rodundum?) in the station wagon Hal rented to ferry the loopers to a sound studio in Dallas, not correct. It was probably closer to at least 5 or 6.
AWESOME!!! Welcome to RIFFTRAX!!! Your dad brought alot of joy to all of us, that is a wonderful legacy! I think I speak for everyone when I say that. It's probably the quintessential MST3K episode and your father will always be with us through it...

Welcome to the forum! Holy cow!
I would just like to say Manos was may favorite MST3K episode ever. "HANDS! HAAAAAAANDS of FATE!"
I heard some weird rumor though that some of the actors in that movie committed suicide after making it "because it was so bad."
I'm guessing that's not true?

Not true.
John Reynolds (Torgo) was the only actor to commit suicide, and apparently the film had nothing to do with it. He seems to have had a lot of personal problems before the film ever was made.

But hey, he was "Hitler in Hell" so maybe the heat got to him a bit.
That was a little weird, yes. My wife came home after my agent called to say I got the part (and no, I did not audition in costume). I told her I booked a part, and said, "Who do I hate more than anyone else in history?" Without a pause she replied, "Hitler!"
Now at the time this was getting kinda weird, because I auditioned for about 3 different Hitlers, I think, in about as many months. Penn Gillette was trying to put together a show (which never happened if I recall) and there was a sequence with him playing poker with 3 historical characters, one of whom was Hitler. There was also an audition for TimeCop 2 which had Hitler. Talk about developing a complex...everyone in Hollywood all at once thought I looked like Hitler.

Bob Hope used to do a sound in the back of his throat, usually when expressing delight over a woman. Kind of a "rrrrrrrooooowww" noise.
I think Bob might have made that noise in this case.
And silly me...her character's latest squeeze, played by actor Travis Schudt -- he went to the same University I did, but do I even think to remember and mention that any of the time I'm on set with him? Nooooooo.....

I'd have to look it up, but I recall seeing it is indeed in some collection of "greatest cartoons" or something along those lines.
