Normally...I'd agree with you. But if I was in the same situation as Batman, looking down at a guy who is trying to kill a bunch of innocent people, I'd let him die. I don't think I would try to save him, and nobody would blame me for letting him die. I just don't see that as cold blooded murder.

Yes, but we're not talking about cold blooded murder, we're just talking about murder. In the comics, Batman was not a killer. Even if it made things more difficult overall, he would not take a life, or, through inaction, allow a life to be taken. At least, not back when I was reading them (the 90's). I'm sure they've abandoned that along with everything else in their efforts to keep people interested. There were a couple of very notable exceptions, but those are the things that preyed on his mind (like when he attempted to kill the Joker after he killed Jason Todd, even though he actually failed to do so).

Ah, see I never read any DC comics when I was little, I was a marvel kid. But that is actually a cool way of making an interesting story. hmm...I should read some classic Batman comics.

They probably sort of abandoned that because this is supposed to be a "darker" batman, but I can't say that, as I"m not in tune with a lot of batman stuff. They just did it to come full circle with the movie, with the fact of Ra's saying he didn't do what it takes, and that is why he (batman) saved him at the beginning of the movie. So to come full circle, Ra's says again, "you don't have what it takes, you won't kill me." and that is when batman says, well I don't have to save you either.

But yeah, that would go against what Batman is.

Batman Begins was exactly that though. Based on a comic, and filmed adequately. It was just an okay film. I mean I hate Nightmare before Christmas but I won't say it's a better film than Crank, cause I liked that.

I disagree again, I thought Batman Begins was filmed really well.  There's maybe 10 movies I find more sickening than Roger Rabbit, the fact Batman Begins is so good and Roger Rabbit is so bad just made my choice easier.

Throwing in a vote for Batman Begins.  I liked it, and it was a refreshing change from the train wreck that Shumaker had left the series.  I liked that they fleshed out his origins, and injected somewhat of a dose of reality.  Plus. Tom Wilkerson as a mafia boss for an added bonus.  WFRR is a classic, but i can see little hints of Zemeckis indulging in his animation fetish, which culminated in Beowulf.  So we go from traditional cel-drawn Jessica Rabbit boobs, to CGI Jolie boobs.

Edit: w00t! 1000 posts!

Oh, thank God/Xenu.  Roger Rabbit is the most annoying movie ever created next to Howard the Duck.

I'm watching Futurama and not in the mood to fight. You said you explained and I didn't see that you did. Sorry if I troubled you.

yeah,  I guess it was ok.

I guess I can't love Batman Begins as much as the rest of you because I never saw Batman and Robin

That's exactly it. I'm postive that people jump on the "Batman Begins is the best movies ever AAAH" bandwagon because the four movies before it sucked.

I wouldn't go that far.

The first two Batmans were quite good in my opinion, and while I don't think Begins is the best movie ever, it's gotta be my favorite comic book movie ever.  And it's really accessible too...my fiance, who normally hates comic book movies like X-Men and Spider-Man, really enjoyed Begins.
