Yeah, I didn't agree with the piracy comment, but it would be nice if we were told there was going to be a delay on the PAL versions (like you just did).

Things come up, like dvds not working or there being different cuts or whatever, and a post saying what the haps is, I think, makes the wait a lot easier.

It has been a couple of weeks, so I think it's fair enough that people were wondering.

Yep, I agree.  After waiting two weeks without news one does get a litlte antsy.  I'm disappointed it's now going to be another two weeks but I'd rather know that up front.

I dunno how much they pay Nigel but if they could afford it, it would be nice if they got him an assistant!

I wasn't being passive aggressive I don't think, it was just a thought because I'm really looking forward to this one and frustrated by waiting and would assume others feel the same.

To reiterate:  An official PAL version is planned.  It will not be this week and probably not next week becuase Nigel had issues with his copy and is looking for another one.  We apologize for this, but Nigel having a full time job and plenty of responsibilities other than helping us out, it is understandable that RiffTrax will not always be his top priority, especially when something weird like his disc not working happens and he has to track another one down.

If you are impatient, you are welcome to download the NTSC version and adjust the tempo yourself, as explained earlier in the thread, it is a very easy process that is done in under ten minutes with free software:

QuoteIf you're using Audacity just go to Effects->Change Tempo and enter 4.271%. That'll convert it from NTSC->PAL.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

Will this work perfectly?  We don't know, because we don't have discs to test it on.  It usually does, that is how we used to make them ourselves, but it makes more sense to have someone with an actual copy of the DVD testing it to make sure.  If it doesn't, it is because of cuts or additions, but you will still be able to download a tested PAL version when it is released since you've already paid for it.

We know people want them, and always want to have them out as soon as possible, posting passive aggressive stuff about piracy doesn't solve anyones problem.

Thanks for the news on this Connor. As I said before I tried Audacity with I Am Legend and it kept drifting. Only slightly but enough to distract me from what was a pretty good riff so I'd rather wait or import the NTSC version so I don't get these problems. The Quad boxset's about £12 in a shop around the corner right now so that's why I'd rather wait for the PAL in this case.

Yeah I am really sorry on this one, my first copy wouldn't rip with DVD Decryptor, so I had to DVD FAB Platinum on it, which appeared to work ok, until I extracted the audio and it was just a mess, with lots of audio drop outs, and syncing it just wasn't happening. I reported it as crap to my rental place but it seemed to be the only copy that until someone recently returned another copy which ripped with out errors and synced up fine.

That's cool, man, we just like to know what's going on!

So it's done?
FINE

thesciphishow

thanks. I'll try it tonight and see if I have any luck :)

thesciphishow

Funnily enough it is essentially impossible to check the riff points and make the film match up when you try to reauthor with the theatrical release instead of the directors cut.

Who would have thunk it ?
:grr:

I just wanted to check - the PAL version is out?  The PAL indicator on the rifftrack page is still grayed out.

Thanks :)
