Hey, Ortega, have you ever checked out Curve?  Very similar band to Garbage, though the production is much muddier by design.  Their first album, Doppelganger, and their early singles comp, Pubic Fruit, are among my favorite albums of the early '90s.

Sadly, I think that's pretty much universally the case.

I really wanted to dislike Garbage back when their first album came out, as I felt they had basically appropriated Curve's sound and polished it to a radio-ready sheen.  But it's hard to hate any band when their songs are so damned catchy.

Garbage 2.0

Great fucking album.  One of those discs you can let play( which is why i repurchased it) .  Push It, When I Grow Up, Temptation Waits, Paranoid, you name it, its good.

I love that album so much.  "Medication" is probably one of my favorite songs ever, and "Sleep Together" is great too.

I absolutely love this album.  I have all their other albums too, but this one I can listen over and over again and it never gets old.

Converge - Jane Doe

Abrasive music that straddles the line between hardcore punk and metal, similar to The Dillinger Escape Plan. In other words, this is the kind of CD that you just keep turning up louder the longer that some dork like Isaac hangs around trying to talk about bullshit like ICP.

I'd say Whalberg definately qualifies as really good.

The pot calling the kettle...ah, screw it.

Anyway, Thorns of Crimson Dumbfuck is the dork, but you're too busy sucking his cock to notice.

Truly underrated. It took me about 5 years to finally get into this album, but once I did it instantly went to my top 3 BG albums. Those're big words coming from me as I'm a hung fan of Blind Guardian and with a catalog full of albums like Nightfall In Middle-Earth, Somewhere Far Beyond, and Follow The Blind it's quite the accomplishment in its own right. So fucking good. I think the big difference for me was that I started getting more into folk metal and bands like Equilibrium and Turisas that tend to use a lot of layered orchestration and complex melodies that don't make use of the guitars (most of my metal-listening life has been as a thrash maniac, so emphasis on guitar was absolutely essential for me to enjoy something for, what seems like, forever) Songs like The Soulforged, Sadly Sings Destiny, and of course the amazing epic And Then There Was Silence really show how brilliant the band is with weaving together orchestration and vocal melodies and coming up with something beautiful and powerful. The production is still a bit slicker than I usually enjoy, but I've warmed to it.

Edit: My ranked BG album list for those interested
1) Somewhere Far Beyond
2) Follow The Blind
3) A Night At The Opera
4) Imaginations From The other Side
5) Nightfall In Middle Earth
6) Tales From The Twilight World
7) A Twist in The Myth
8) Battalions of Fear

...all of them are awesome, though. Kind of like ranking your favorite ice cream flavors.

Can we have general rule where you can only post one album a day?
Also, you can only post that album 1 time in the thread.
Otherwise this just becomes a dick measuring contest.

I'm not too keen on the first rule on general principal because lots of people listen to multiple albums in a day and it's nice to see the diversity.

I'm more favourably inclined toward the second because I essentially keep to that one myself. I listen to lots of the albums I've posted over and over but I don't tend to post it each time because again I like to see the diversity.

That'\d be my take on it, anyone else want to give an opinion?
