Unlike Eminem, Esham is actually FROM DETROIT, and has talent.

You don't think Eminem has talent?
Admitedly Detroit Hip Hop is influenced by Esham (Horror-Core)... but horror-core gets old quickly in my opinion.

Well, I'm a bit of a horror movie buff. Actually, Esham is acid rap, not horrorcore.

Eminem has an annoying vocal style, and he ripped off rappers with more talent than him. I rank Slim Anus just slightly above Limp Bizkit.

Mars, The Bringer of War is good.

A certain movie music composer would definitly agree.

Earlier I was listening to this,

The Stone Roses - Second Coming

Ok so since I had a lovely time visiting with the fruit bats, I thought I'd dig out an album with one as lead guitarist  ;)

At work last night on my iPod:

Do you have the expanded "special edition" of this album? It's really good.

the live version of 'life during wartime' is better than the record!

I listen to hours of music at work - projectors are loud and monotonous -

I stopped listening to music in the booth; I'm deathly afraid I'll not hear a projector having a problem.

Ellen Foley - Another Breath

Karla DeVito - Is This A Cool World Or What?
Spoiler

(A bit of trivia:  Ellen Foley was the female singer on Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell album, but she was replaced by Karla DeVito by the time they recorded the videos and went on tour.  In the videos, Karla is actually lip syncing to Ellen.)

Listening to Karla DeVito made me think of E.G. Daily.  Which then made me think of the movie Streets Of Fire, which then made me think of this song which is one of my top 10 all time favorite 80's songs:

Spoiler

(Karla DeVito is on the Breakfast Club soundtrack along with E.G. Daily, who is seen in the film Streets Of Fire which stars Diane Lane who plays a singer in the movie, but whose singing voice is actually done by Laurie Sargent of the 80's band Face To Face, whose biggest hit was 10,9,8, which is one of my 80's favs.)

I have a cd-r of that Face To Face album somewhere around here.  I might have to dig that one out.

P.S. my all time favorite 80's song?

Body Count - Born Dead

The music is almost complete garbage, the lyrics are atrocious for the most part... but damned if I didn't have a good time listening to it anyway. I suppose it helps that I'm under the influence and can enjoy things that are unintentionally funny.
