Don't you have to buy iPhone ringtones from iTunes?  Or did they change that.

Yeah, you have to download a song from iTunes, then make a ringtone from it.  It's cool that they let you choose which part of the song to use, but it kinda sucks that you can't just use anything the thing can play as a ringtone.  It's a money-making scheme (and a darn good one at that).

That's apple for you. They like to keep all the cash in house.  I wonder if any of the unlocking would let you use a third party ringtone, but then you void your warranty and all that stuff.   Probably not worth it to hear Dis sing to you.

My old t-mobile phone from a few years ago had a USB port and I could drop mp3s formatted a certain way into the phone to use as my ringers. Once they found out people were willing to pay money for ringtones those kinds of features have seemed to disappear. Hell my current phone sells ringtones that are only good for 90 days!!
