Doctor Who?

So... you'd rather see Tim Burton's Nick Cage as black-clad Superman with a logo that turns into bladed weapons? Well, me too. But we are the minority. And they're building a wall to keep us out.

No that would not be MY choice(I liked Superman Returns and Batman Begins)but that's what you get when you hire Tim Burton to do your Superman movie and yes you can blame Warners for hiring him and you can even say it's a bad movie but you should still hold off until you see the movie.  After all the script may give a good reason for what happens.

I don't think you can really listen to the fans while making a movie because they allways hate everything.

When was the last time you heard a comic book fan say anything good about any comic book movies.

Even if you took your film word for word and shot for shot from the comics they would still hate it because that's what fans do.

Two words: Sin... City.

Doctor Who?

Ok but that book had a small fanbase, take a book like Batman or Spiderman that has millions upon Millions of fans and you would be hard pressed to get all of them to like any movie version no matter how good.

Also so far the only bad thing i have heard said about Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is that some people don't like the new Batmobile and that it is too realistic both are fairly minor points IMO.

I don't see anything to indicate that there is anything to worry about when it come to the next two Batman movies.

I don't think it's that hard to make a great comic book movie, it's just that nobody's tried because most directors and writers tend to have a particular personal interpretation they want to do. They don't necessarily want to please the fans, even if they are fans, and even if they are they want to throw in a dance number because they like dance numbers. I'm not too worried about the Batman movies, although they have a lot to live up to since the first one DIDN'T suck, unlike X-Men. But I'm inclined to make fun of the hype and the cryptic statements. Usually when a movie surprises me, particularly in how it ends, it's in a good way, not a bad way. Although a happy ending is certainly a surprise these days. Just as long as The Dark Knight doesn't end like Matrix Reloaded I won't have to kill anyone.

Doctor Who?

So you want a movie that is just the comic book put on screen with nothing added or taken away?

I am sorry to say this but i don't think you are ever going to find a comic book movie you like.

Comics and films are very diforant so you are never going to be able to make on 100% like the other.

Also if you don't allow the Director to put his own stamp on the film why should he even be there when he could be making something that he could put his own stamp on?

Also new editors of long running comics are allowed to put their own stamp on a character, why shouldn't comic books filmmakers do the same thing.

Look I understand why you are up set but i think it's a little unfair to say no one has tried to make a good comic book movie,it's just most filmmakers try to make good movies instead of just recreating a comic people have read before.

The sad fact is that right now it cost a lot of money to make a comic book movie so it has to appeal to more then the 3 to 5 million comicbook geeks like you and me in the world in order to make money.

Maybe at some point in the future SFX will get so cheap that they only need us but that day is not today.

I think alot of the Filmamkers who have tried have done a good job striking a balance between the fans want to see and what most people want to see.

But then again I liked Batman begins so maybe I am just stupid.
