QuoteWell, of course they  care more about killing US immigrants. The may have an innate jealous hatred of all things that live, but they'll be damned if they tolerate any big-nosed gap-sneaker-wearing pork-rind-eating gajin take up residence in their country.

They must be busy ghosts since according to the movie, 90% of Japan's population is apparently made up of white Americans.

I learned that watching this movie for the very first time while home alone in the dark during a thunderstorm while on medication (with lovely side effects of hallucination, paranoia, dry mouth, and so on) still doesn't even come close to a frightening experience.  I was laughing like a moron and pointing at the tv when my wife came home.

Oh, and the Rifftrack was highly amusing too with the Prince of Space & Gamera references.

And I learned that you can just end scenes without showing any sort of conclusion.  "Hey audience, you decide what happened.  We couldn't come up with anything good."

even WITHOUT my anti-anxiety medication and also seeing this for the first alone at midnight, yeah, mild anxiety. That's what a horror movie should be like. I think my cat was far more scared or at least alarmed by the cat screeches. However I am terrified by little japanese boys now, especially if they meow.

Anyway, I learned on top of zero "horror," the premise doesnt even need to make sense or come any conclusion what so ever.
edit; oh I forgot, phones should just be avoided all together, it's just not worth the risk
The Ood: The Beast and his armies will rise from the pit to make war against God.
Rose: I'm sorry?
The Ood: Apologies. I said: I hope you enjoy your meal.

Hehe. If I'm remembering right, I think my very first reaction to the preview for this movie and specifically the meowing Japanese kid was hysterical laughter and gasping out "what... what the fuck!?". It was mildly unsettling the first or second time, but have you noticed that almost every horror movie since has had the "evil spectre child" thing in it? It's getting really lame.

In Japan, ghost mimes are extrememly scary, apparently.

I learned that even if you are the only person smart enough to figure out the house is haunted by a ghost that murders everyone who goes into it, you can still be a complete moron. If you know that burning down the house is the only way to get rid of the grudge, then you should not go into said haunted house because odds are the grudge that kills everyone will kill you. Just burn the house down you incredible idiot.

Yes, I hate this movie with a passion because it was more annoying than scary.

stalkers, when having a cute childish japanese accent saying "peter" over and over isn't creepy, but very amusing :)

I learned that I am a wuss because I had a heart episode during the Grudge because it reminded me of a recurring dream I had as a child where the only thing I saw were dark eyes constantly staring at me.
And no one tried to choke the ghost because she had trouble breathing, how hard is it for a 35 year old white guy to overpower a 4 foot dead Japanese girl?

i really dont get why the "evil beings" in the movie were that threatening. i mean in the time it took for them to menace you you could presumably beat the living shit out of the apparitions. that scene where she tries to escape the house and the lady pops her head through the door? fucken SHORYUKEN! seriously though they dont even try they just sort of lie helplessly while they are killed. so i learned that in japanese horror movies, the victims are basically immobile mannequins with no sense of self preservation..
