Ah! I got a new joke that I'm not a big fan of. The "I can has wizard" joke in the Harry Potter rifftrax. I never liked lolcats, and never will.

I really liked the "DO NOT WANT" joke in The Matrix Reloaded.

I haven't seen HP yet.
FINE

I'm sorry.  Ted Danson in blackface is still funny to me.

I'm still trying to figure out why the "Aristocrats" joke, & the movie based on it, would get any laughs in country where (theoretically) there are no aristocrats. I know it's semi-funny in an old-time-euro-'royalty' context, but I'd rather hear the joke that ends, "Well, if we could find my car keys, we could drive outta here!"  ::) ;D Or the one where Buckwheat's in school, & Miss Crabtree asks him to use the word "dictate" in a sentence.  >:D

JESUS CHRIST--Enough with this. THIS is a fucking joke I'm tired of.

I'd say "Oh snap!" to that, but I think you would yell at me. :speechless:

GalvaTRION

Indeed.

Getting sick of:

"Uh oh, grampa tried to use the microwave/light the oven/fix the tv/whatever"
"Snappi?" For the record- FUCK. SHNAPPI.

Annnnnd that's pretty much it. Fuck. Shnappi.

Yeah, the snap thing got old in about ten seconds, but I'm new here so I'm not going to yell.  But the thing about Mike and Co, at least they realize when they've run a joke into the ground and hit each other or something.

Anyway, I agree with the person above who said he hated LOLcats or whatever the fuck they're called.  If I was in the same room as the drooling moron who invented THAT particular internet phenomenon, I very well might have to commit my second murder.  (The first being the mendicant who invented WAZZZZZZUUUUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPPPP!)
"Did she just say Chipping?"

That's kind of a shallow look at the joke. You have to at least note that it was a clever reference to a culturally relevant topic.

ShadowDog

I'll give em that much.  Another thing to keep in mind is that when you're going for as broad an audience as possible, it's impossible for every joke to make every person laugh.  Senses of humor are just too different.  So for me a trax works if I get:

1) At least one really good belly laugh per track.  (they haven't failed me there so far)

2) Half a dozen chuckles per track.

3) At least a smile once every minute or two.

That's not asking a lot, and they usually exceed that (not that have a notebook and keep count or anything) so a few jokes I don't find funny here and there are fine.
"Did she just say Chipping?"

Raven

Running jokes have always been a part of riffing.  They don't bother me as long as they don't dominate the entire track and none of them have so far.  As far as different people liking different jokes, I can guarantee that's the case.  I don't think I've had the same answer twice when I ask people what their favorite jokes in my riff are.

I still don't get "Oh snap!". Can someone please explain?

I'm not allowed to dislike a reference to something I already disliked? Sure, it's great that they're noting something that's in popular culture, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Besides, for every lame lolcats reference, which is only one, there's hundreds of other jokes that have made me laugh. I'd like to think I'm not being too much of a stick in the mud, here.

bettertomorrowamy

Don't you think they were making fun of the lolcat joke itself?  That's why it was funny.

The joke I dislike the most is when there's any type of "fade to black" in the movie, and they pretend the movie is over.  It usually happens early in the movie because, well, it's funny because there's no way the movie is actually over yet!!  hahahahahahahaaaaahhhaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Oh MAN!!!!!!!!  THE WIT IS REALLY FLYING NOW!!!!   HHAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!  The movie isn't over yet, you silly guys!  How'd you come up with that one?!  Hilarious!
