Hey! Guesses! Awesome!

(By the way, if you were wondering what the conversation between me and Tripe was, the forum though I was spamming because I accidentally posted all of the images as urls. I am a dummy. Will post my least favourite movies list shortly, and hopefully it won't happen again.)

Is 13 14 Paul?

Yes! Correct! I thought for sure I was going to hate it from the trailers, but it turned out to be a super fun movie.

Is 13 Paul?

I think it's 14 (number comes above pic)

9 8 is Winnie the Pooh?
3 2 looks like Tintin?

Looks like the reason it was confusing is when it got to single digit numbers, they dropped below the correct picture. I've put '0' in front of them, and that's fixed it. Sorry for the confusion.

Correct on both! Winnie the Pooh didn't get a theatrical OR DVD/Blu Ray release here yet. Terrible shame, as it is really nice and also a direct sequel to what is probably my favourite Disney film. And I loved Tintin, having been a fan since I was a kid, this was a long time coming. Loved every minute of it.

At first glance, aside from those already guessed, I believe the one at the top is Tangled.

Correct - We didn't get it here in Australia till January of 2011. I am a Disney nerd and love almost every film they've done, and this was not my favourite. There were a few films that almost knocked it out, but in the end, it's a film I'm going to come back to a lot.

12 is Attack the Block

Absolutely! An amazing first-time film.

Yay, this thing again! I love doing this every year, even if a bunch are ones that I'll facepalm and go "Of course! How come I didn't guess that?" after they're revealed.

Here's what I've got (edited, the numbering threw me for a moment):

15. Tangled
14. Paul
12. Attack the Block
8. Winnie the Pooh
3. Crazy, Stupid, Love
2. The Adventures of Tintin
1. Drive

Thanks! Me too! You are right on all except 3. Crazy Stupid Love was a really great film, that shot it self to pieces at the end.

My top five films are pretty well interchangeable this year, I think the order I watched them in had a lot to do with the order they appear on the list. A great year for films in my opinion. And Drive was just incredible, though I know it's not for everyone.

10 is True Grit.  I'd recognize that guy anywhere.

Absolutely, and yeah, that didn't come out till January here either. I am huge Coen bros fan, I think they only have one movie that is a stinker (Ladykillers - and even that has some redeeming qualities).

OK, so that just leaves:

13 (That's gonna be a really hard one to get. The folks playing it on Twitter haven't figured it out yet either)
11 (Hard, but not impossible. A couple of people have picked it)
9 (I feel like that's not too hard)
7 (Also unguessed so far. Anyone who saw the film recently would recognize the scene though)
6 (Hard because I went for a less obvious scene. Someone has picked it though)
5 (Really easy)
4 (No one's picked it yet. I think it's an easy drawing but maybe a less seen film?)
3 (If you've seen this film, you'd get it in a second, but it's, again, a more obscure film).

I posted the least favourites list and it did get flagged as spam again.

Keep your eyes out for it, I guess! It'll pop up at some point. ;)

Mechanical Torgo

I believe that 5 is Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Last chance to guess! I will post the answers tomorrow. Will edit the first post in a moment to reflect the already guessed ones.

And now, the thrilling conclusion!

#11 X-Men First Class
#10 True Grit

Relaxing Dragon

And naturally I've seen every movie on the list (save for The Future). Don't think I've seen any of them recently enough to guess the movies, though (well, I should've been able to get Super 8).

Cheers on doing this again, it's always a treat. Whatever happened to your Hams on Film website, by the way? It just seemed to stop last February.

Edward J Grug III

Yeah, I got burned out on drawing last year. I think if I had cut out the tv series I might have been able to keep it up...

MIGHT revive it at some point. But I do have a lot of comic projects that have sat for too long...

I really need to get around to seeing Tangled. I haven't been impressed with anything combining Disney and CGI yet (Pixar excluded, of course) but I keep hearing this one is awesome.

If you're not expecting originality, I guess. It looks very nice, but I it was the same old Disney Princess formula, down to the little animal friend that reacts to things.

Not exactly a bad thing, though. It's a working formula and it made a good movie.

It had more twists on the formula than most, though. Specifically

Plus, the princess/evil-stepmother dynamic is explored much more interestingly than in most. Despite the stepmother's ulterior motives, there is a genuine affection on both sides, which is more than can be said for, say, Cinderella.

That's right. Nothing interesting can be done by using a formula that has been used before.

I didn't enjoy it much.  It is a formula that does not win for me. I find Disney's characters to generally be uninteresting. The stepmother was a step in the right direction, but it wasn't enough to impress me. The humor fell flat for me as well. I don't find almost any Disney movie funny outside of Pixar. And even though they went a new direction with the story, it still played out as I predicted. It just didn't hit many checks on my checklist, I guess you could say.

What it has over other Disney movies is that the CGI animation is beautiful and much less annoying to watch than their squishy and over-exaggerated traditional animation. I KNOW I'm in the minority in this opinion, but that's my opinion, and that's OK.

Edward J Grug III

I genuinely don't mind if you didn't like it, I just disliked the dismissal of it due to it being a take on the 'Disney princess formula,' which is a thing I think they get too much guff for, as there is actually only ten Disney princesses, and I'd argue this one was a different take on that formula anyway.

So, I am sorry you didn't like it. I thought it was really fun.
