Always a possibility...

Any violators found so far?

We ask as we prepare the razor blades, lemon juice, and salt...

... and an unriffed copy of Battlefield Earth.

Some fates are worse than death.

And being forced to watch Battlefield earth with Fran Dresher on their right and Harvey Firestein on their left.

Isn't that considered cruel and unusual?

By the way my roommate says Battlefield Earth "wasn't that bad." Needless to say I give make fun of him all the time.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

As a non-Windows user, I was having to make do with the MP3s and the Internet Archive files and synchronising them manually, which could be occasionally frustrating. And as a DRM hater, I'd have done that even if I had been a Windows user. For that matter, if I were inclined to distribute said Rifftrax, which I'm not since I'd like them to make more, that's what I'd do too. :P

So yes, Rifftrax guys! Turn away from the dark side! Look into the bottom of your hearts and see the joy that lurks within! Also, it was a funny riff (almost as funny as the actual video), so that helped.

I had a roommate who said that about the unriffed version of Pod People actually.  He said he cried at the end.
I thought I was Dale.

Did you punch him in the face and take his milk money?

I love BFE. It is one of my favorite movies.

What rifftrax did and say on their "riff" was unnecessary and disgusting..

Zeus

Awesome. DRM bad. Rifftrax good. Much thanks.

"But if it shows up on YouTube and tor-rent sites..."

Look, it probably will. But don't let that stop you. The important thing isn't if one or two idiots are seeding, what matters is that the number of leechers are going to be close to zero, because most Rifftrax fans are smart enough not to ruin a good thing. (Same with Cinematic Titanic -- fans know if they pirate it, they aren't *getting* an episode 2.)

Here's hoping this is a sign of good things to come. Just think, in a few months we might have enough DRM-less shorts to string together on a DVD-R and gather around the TV instead of hunching over the computer.  ;D

P.S. Man, I need to plug this on my site. I haven't wanted an experiment to succeed this much since those two bra-heads hooked a Barbie doll up to a Government mainframe to create the perfect woman. What was that called... Bride of Frankenstein. Yeah.

Thank you! I've been adverse to any video content on a computer screen since xbox media center dropped into my lap back in the day. So nice to be able to just toss this onto the home network and stream it on the tv. Especially given that the main computers here are all running linux, which most DRM isn't exactly easy to run with.

As a side note, this is the first short I've bought. Specifically because of the previous DRM issues and the fact that this one lacks it.

Except for us 5.8 billion non-Americans, who haven't even got an episode 1 yet. :P
