Beautiful, but I like Comerica Park too:

Tiger Stadium was the best though:

Only ever went to one game there right near the end while I was still running a summer camp.

I definitely want to take a road trip to Detroit sometime in the near future for a series at Comerica. It looks gorgeous.

It is though the bleachers could be a little better. But the field itself is wonderful to look at.

Ticket prices have begun to creep up a little but they're still pretty reasonable. You might want to find your outside food though, Little Caesars isn't the best. :-\

But all minor considerations compared to how nice a game is to watch there. :)

I'm coming your way in May for the Brewers first trip to Fenway in twelve years. It will my 3rd/4th/5th game taken in at Fenway. I was lucky enough to see Big Papi break Foxx's team home run record back in September of '06. I thought the park was going to fall down and scored a SRO Monster ticket too on my first sojourn to Fenway.

My vote for the greatest view in all of baseball...

It's a crazy view if you're in the front row of the Monster seats.  Although if you can manage to get a seat at a table over in the right field roof deck it's pretty nice as well.  $100 worth of concession stand items is included in the cost for the table (4 seats).  It's great to solve the "do I want a Fenway Frank or an Italian sausage or steak tips?" problem with "I'll take all 3!"

My wife got tickets on her birthday to a game of her choice this year from her brother.  (I suspect he may have season tickets and just isn't telling anyone... but then again, he's got his own bar just off Lansdown street, so he's got connections.)

TeamRAD

I was just to the right of the right-field roof deck for my 2nd game at Fenway. I had another SRO (at face value to boot), and a super-cool usher led me to here...

I was hoping Fenway had a veggie-hot dog for me, but pizza filled the need.

I can't wait for May to see Fielder going after the short porch in right or Braun aiming for the Monster, and my summation of the Fenway experience can be captured in this photo...

Actually which park has the best food on offer? I seem to remember Wrigley Field has a pretty nice selection.

Oh and I got the email from the fantasy league so i will try to log on to the live draft :)

I'm very limited with myself being a vegetarian, and Miller Park served a great veggie-hot dog in right field at Gorman's Grill until last year. They also serve fresh kettle-corn in right and have a sundae bar on the 2nd level of the Park. Miller's concessions are nice. Then again, with Miller Park, it's all about the tailgating before the game.

At Wrigley, they've the great Connie's Pizza, and I can't help but indulge in the Old Style beer there (it's tradition and inhales violently to be doused in it). Between those two items and peanuts, that's my diet at Wrigley. But I must say, the Hebrew franks they sell there do smell very good.

Yankee Stadium might be a mecca of history (Monument Park is a must-see) but its concessions were atrocious....way overpriced and unispiring. I was happy to be back in Manhattan with the street vendors after the game.

The Cell, $4.00 bottles of Sam Adams Boston Lager when I took in a game in '06. I can't complain about that.

Fenway, the concessions weren't anything special, but I was more awestruck by the nuances of the stadium and the atmosphere outside in Kenmore Square for it to really matter.

Of the five parks I've been too, I'd give my vote to Miller Park with Wrigley being a close second.

I'll see you at the draft, Tripe.  :D

Yeah, I definitely agree on the Fenway concessions.

Best food at Fenway is from "The Sausage Guy" on Lansdowne street behind the Monster before you go in.  But if you're a vegetarian... not so much.

I've only been to 3 MLB stadiums so far.  Fenway, Kauffman, and Candlestick (or whatever it's called now).

Kauffman had the best food, was the cleanest, and best looking.  But Fenway makes for a much better ball game atmosphere.

After being delayed by visa issues, Francisco Liriano arrived at Twins camp Wednesday.
Liriano missed nine days of workouts, but was reportedly showing off a mid-90s fastball during bullpen sessions in the Dominican Republic and is scheduled for his first official mound session Wednesday.

Another sweet thing about baseball out here is catching games down at the Cape League parks.  The players get jobs all over the place on Cape Cod, and my brother ended up having Jason Varitek and Braden Looper as Little League coaches.

Very cool

I want to go down to Lakeland at some point for Tiger's Training, I should talk to my father-in-law about it.

I'm very inquisitive to see if anyone's going to be using an early flyer on Liriano.

k1, you had the opportunity to see it unfold, what's your take on Gagne's pitching woes in Beantown?

In the wake of Dusty Baker's latest remark/headscratcher regarding OBP, I had to see what the great fans at www.northsidebaseball.com were saying about it while I was having some lunch this afternoon and came across this entertaining thread. It makes for a fun read...

Only 31 days until my guys begin the season at Wrigley!

Alot of people out here were excited about picking him up (myself included, but having had him on my Fantasy Team almost every year I knew he was prone to injury).  What I didn't expect was for him to be such a bust.

Absolutely horrible when a guy who was the best closer in the game can't even be counted on in a mop-up role.  People were about ready to lynch him.  Some people won't even talk about him out here.  They flat out refuse to admit he was ever on our team.

Having read what was said about him in the Mitchell report (basically the scouts suspicions of steroids and lack of work ethic to stay in top shape) it made sense.

Anyone else read the whole Mitchell report?  Pretty interesting stuff.

TeamRAD

I never dove into the Mitchell Report, but it made for some of the best talk radio I've listened to in sometime.

Gagne, I can't fathom the scrutiny he was under in Boston, but the polarization of his stats between Arlington & Boston is crazy. His WHIP alone jumped from 1.050 to 1.875...say what? He was an enigma last season. I'd like to convince myself, with him being our closer now, that he hit a wall physically last year in respects to appearing in only 16 total games in '05/'06, and I don't buy into any of the speak of him being uncomfortable in the setup role in Boston. He could've vetoed the trade. As always, I'm hoping for the best, and from a guilty pleasure point-of-view,  I can shout out Game Over at Wrigley after a Gagne save, just once this season.

So k1, what's Theo's plan with his signing of Colon? It's a minimal risk/high reward signing, but does he have anything left in his right arm?

The scrutiny didn't really start until he got lit up for maybe the 2nd or 3rd time.  But then it was real bad.

By the way did you notice he got lit up last night in their exhibition game?  (Granted it's spring training and doesn't mean much)

I think it's an insurance policy in case Wakefield gets hurt, Schilling doesn't come back, or Tavarez can't cut it as our 5th starter.  They also brought in Freddy Garcia as well but havent signed him yet.  Bartolo Calzone seems to still have an arm, but who knows if he can stay healthy and away from all you can eat buffets.

I'm trying to convince the guy who is a die hard Cubs fan to rejoin our league.  For some reason he's not in yet.  It'd be fun to get some quality Cubs/Brewers arguing.

How do you think Bill Hall will do this year?  I keep ending up with him on my team for the past few years and he kinda let me down last year.  I got him in the Head To Head draft today as my final pick.
