Can anyone tell me if the VHS version works with the rifftrack?

You want to know the oddest thing?

It seems to write to CDs just fine.

My brain is in knots.

Have you tried different packages of DVDr disks?  Maybe you got a bad run of disks.  I'm pretty sure CDs and DVDs use different power settings for burning, some drives have separate lasers for DVDs and CDs, so it could still be a hardware problem.

Doctor Who?

Yeah that was the first thing i tried after cleaning the lens.

That is why i am not sure it's the drive.

Also my blank DvDs all work fine in my stand alone DvD recorder.

Still I got a VHS copy so it's not that big a deal for this movie,I am going to try getting a new drive at some point and see if that helps.

So, the ancient VHS would work if I managed to find the one I bought in like 3rd grade? Just tonight I successfully got my laptop here to match the riffing up to my friend's copy of Casino Royale on his TV. If it wasn't for Disembaudio and my quick reflexes, he might have forced me to turn it off for interrupting his precious movie we'd already seen before.
