And I think that we can all agree that the reason the prequels were such disappointments was the total lack of Harrison Ford.  Whereas the new Indy movie will have Harrison Ford in abundance.  I personally can't wait for it to come out so I can get John Williams' new Indiana Jones score.

(Cue remarks about how I've "already heard it" because every John Williams score sounds exactly the same.)

What the prequels lacked was both Harrison Ford and a director who wasn't the screenplay writer. Indy will have both.

I wouldn't mind if it was the exact same score as the previous Indy movies.  When I watched Superman Returns, the opening credit sequence was of my favourite things.  I just sat there, humming along to the theme tune.  I was in the screen alone, BTW.   :)

Singer was smart there, he knew trying to make a new score that lived up to the orignal would be impossible so he reused the old one... helped make the movie stronger as well

All the John Williams scores sound exactly the same? If by "sound the same" you mean they all feature violins then I guess I agree with you. Otherwise I say JW is a freaking genius who has written more memorable and unique scores than anyone else in movie history.

Not everyone thought the prequels were disappointments. George Lucas and Fox certainly didn't since they raked in 2 billion dollars. I only wish I could "fail" that grandly one day.

And I don't know why everyone trashes the Jackass movies.  They were both #1 at the box office their opening weekends, which means they have insurmountable artistic integrity.

Would you expect anything less from movies with 'ass' in their title?

It seems like Lucas doesn't actually want a fourth Indy movie...

Why doesn't the lazy bastard write it himself then?  ::)

Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

I love movies where characters say "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."

Preferably there are some sort of Bionic Man noises on the soundtrack while the character is saying "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and it's in slow-motion, but I'll take what I can get.

I wasn't saying I think John Williams scores all sound the same.  I was merely commenting on how that's the most common criticism against John Williams.  The second most common is probably that he's just ripping off Gustav Holst with every score he does.  I do think John Williams has a very distinctive sound, and that's definitely a good thing.  I mean, you'd never confuse a John Williams score with a Jerry Goldsmith score.

So GL isn't writing or directing this one?  There is hope, then.

I may be misinterpreting things, but shouldn't Indy not age after having drunk from the Holy Grail? Yet Harrison Ford looks like this now:

"Stairs? Why did it have to be stairs?"

Indiana Jones lives a very long time thanks to the Grail, but ages like normal. He should look really old but be really healthy. :^)

Yeah, remember in the first season of Young Indiana Jones Chronicles when they had the bookend device of Indy as an old guy bothering people in modern times?  If he was old in modern times, it stands to reason that he must have aged.
