Well, that pic looks pretty legit. Wolfish, recalling the classic designs, yet harnessing some of the newer cosmetic approches.
Course, they have an odd way of doctoring up posters and publicity pics:

That's supposed to be Jessica Alba, by the way.

Anyway, I'm glad they're not making the Wolf Man look like a friggin' hairless rat on steroids, like everybody else for the last decade.

So after John Landis decides he's tired of seeing werewolves depicted as a guy in spirit gum with rabbit fur attached to his face, and people follow suit and rip him off for 20 years, Hollywood decides to go back to a really hairy guy walking around, even casting an already really hairy guy. Why? It's so cheesy, and illogical. Since when do wolves not have hair around their eyes? And why, if your own hair just grows, does your moustache stay thin? Is it supposed to be a cheesy movie like Hidalgo or Van Helsing? Or have they just forgotten Jack Nicholson in "Wolf"?

Edward J Grug III

He's not suppossed to be a wolf, he's a wolf-man.

You know, part wolf, part man.

Anyway, I think it looks great.
FINE

Asshole.
Yeah, you can be one sometimes.  But it's ok.  Your mustache line was probably true.  A real life wolfman would probably not be as well groomed.  You're right on with that.  I salute you.  You are a man of extraordinary magnitude.

However the film turns out, I imagine they will be getting my 6 bucks.
DAMN YOU IRRATIONAL LOVE OF KAIJU AND WEREWOLF MOVIES!!

GregMcduck

Kaiju? Is the wolf man fighting a giant foam squid?

Cause that'd be awesome!

You really don't use logic when thinking about what your going to complain about in any given topic do you?
I mean it's hollywood they remake successful things. It happens. The only person that is illogical is you for even caring enough to break down the photo's like they are supposed to be real.

weird, I was expecting this to be here already, anyway long story short, there's going to be a Wolfman remake starring Benicio Del Toro (Sin City) and Anthony Hopkins. recently it has lost it's director and is loking for a replacement

QuoteUniversal is wasting no time in its search for a director for "The Wolf Man" following Mark Romanek's exit from the period horror movie.

Brett Ratner (Rush Hour), Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption), James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) and Joe Johnston (Jurassic Park III) have either met with the studio and producers or are expected to do so in the coming days. Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) also is a helmer the studio is keen on.

The biggest challenge the studio faces is its inability to work on the script because of the writers strike. Any filmmaker coming on board takes on a locked script, overseen by Romanek over several years, and many directors want to put their stamp on it. Martin Campbell is one helmer who was interested, but he is no longer in contention.

Another potential wrinkle is star Benicio Del Toro. The actor, known to be choosy with parts and directors, might have a say in the process.

Many on the list are writer-directors, but Ratner is not. The director, who met with the studio Wednesday, is emerging as the strongest contender because of the fact that he has experience in taking over a project that has lost a director late in the game. Ratner famously took over "X-Men: The Last Stand" after Bryan Singer flew the coop to direct "Superman Returns."

The studio is expected to find its man next week for the film, which has a dedicated March start date.

Oh okay, I do remember that. I guess I should've posted my photos at the end of your thread... whoops. (I guess I got excited over the pictures)

BTW, I think I have figured bratpop out. He really doesn't believe anything he types anyway, so just ignore him. Everytime he tricks us into an argument with him, which he doesn't really stand for in the first place, he gets a little jolt of satisfaction. So, yeah, avoid doing so at your own peril.

Bob

Finally, going back to the (in my opinion anyway) BEST looking wolfman, the Lon Chaney Jr version. :highfive:
