You guessed it, REMAKE  ;D
QuoteGarret Dillahunt (No Country for Old Men, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) will play the thug Kurg in Wes Craven's "Last House on the Left" remake. Dennis Iliadis will direct and Adam Alleca rewrote the original to give it a more realistic tone.

Dillahunt joins a trio of other actors - Rhys Coiro, Martha MacIsaac and Riki Lindhome - in the project, which is gearing up for a March 24th start in South Africa.

Story revolves around a couple, on vacation at their lakeshore house, who inadvertently gives shelter to the sociopaths who have just assaulted and nearly killed their daughter. After discovering the truth, they exact revenge on the attackers.

Garrett Dillahunt is a very good actor.

He was especially good as the serial killing geologist on the second season of Deadwood after already stealing all his scenes as the droop-eyed back shooting murderer Jack McCall.
I'm all out for kicks...and every inch of me spells EXCITEMENT!

Didn't the bad guys actually kill the daughter and her girlfriend after brutally raping them in the original?

Man, that movie, as cheesy as it looks today, had one of the most memorable scenes that any guy would have nightmares about for years...  those of you who have seen it know what I am talking about.

That movie was released in Fall 1972 with the tagline, "To avoid fainting, just keep repeating to your self... it's only a movie, only a movie..."

I saw this movie in 1977 at a drive-in in Columbia, Missouri... that was a blast...

I'll be amazed if the remake is as sexually violent as the original.  Censors don't mind gore, but they sure do hate sex of any kind.

Courtney

That movie was so sexually violent and gritty, I'd be amazed if this one kept that tone.  Or that particular scene BEERxTaco mentioned.  Chomp.   :gouge:

Is Wes Craven producing?  Or did I imagine that?

Monica Potter?  That's random.  I like Tony Goldwyn though actually.  He was pretty creepy in "Kiss the Girls."

GregMcduck

Eh, I'd rather they remake this then, say, The Virgin Spring.

Oh, wait.
